Enmore Flensburg Rum Company Dos Delinquentes (Co-Bottling Wu Dram Clan) EHP 1998
"Different than usual Enmores," as one taster put it — and most agree. The nose wins people over: coconut, dried fruit, chocolate, caramel, a little menthol from the Armagnac cask. Then the palate lets it down. Several call it thin, watered-down and soapy, with the alcohol poking through despite the modest strength. A 26-year EHP that smells far better than it drinks.

How does Enmore Flensburg Rum Company Dos Delinquentes (Co-Bottling Wu Dram Clan) EHP 1998 taste?
Summarized by AI from community reviews.
Great nose, thin and soapy palate A lovely, fruity nose that almost nobody disputes — but a thin, sometimes soapy, alcohol-forward palate that leaves most tasters disappointed. Doesn't drink like a classic Enmore.

Despite the low ABV, the alcohol is still very present on the nose. Nevertheless, I find the nose appealing with dried fruit, vanilla and other spices, licorice, caramel, wood, chocolate and lots of sweetness (popcorn 🍿 + coconut!?). The palate is unfortunately very flat and watered down with caramel, chocolate, wood, coconut and spices. The finish is virtually non-existent.

Spontaneous tasting with FischeJ on the roof terrace of our hotel. First of all, thanks for all the drams and the nice conversation. As for the rum itself, it was a total flop for me. Develops a soapy/perfumey note after a while, but it's unpleasant. Fortunately, I left it out. Overall, very thin and meaningless! Could have done without it. Unfortunately, I didn't have a Coke to sink my teeth into

28.08.2024 Retasting after another sample was open for a few hours and then closed again. Today the sample has very different notes than at the first sampling. --------------------------- #4778 13.07.2024 Relaxing with a little sample 😊 This is very far from an Enmore and what you'd expect. Very light/thin with citrus touch and soap like on the palate. Will try to get another sample to make sure this is correct. Just checked the empty glass and i has a perfume/soapy touch to it.

First of all, I found the bottler's communication suboptimal. I would have preferred it to say directly: EHP, 26 years, continental. After that, you can let off steam in flowery sentences and teasers. But ok. The sample had already been ordered when it became clear that it was a continental EHP. So there were also few expectations. The nose is surprisingly delicious with coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, dried fruit but also a nice fruitiness and some mint. On the palate, however, it really can hardly deliver ... quite nice overall, but there are tropical EHPs for the price ... e.g. the 1996 from the rare collection. And there's a world of difference. So: not a bad rum, but certainly not worth the price.

Interesting and intense on the nose. Vanilla, wood, coconuts and some honey. The Armagnac finish clearly did some work here adding ample of grapes and dried fruits. There are also more earthy and herbal notes - I get menthol and eucalyptus. Interesting twist on an EHP nose with emphasis on the finish. Nice. Hm… on the palate it starts very thin and non-present. This turns into a very watered-down Armagnac sensation. There is some woodiness and a hint of spices. I don’t get much Enmore „feel“ from this. So all in all, this is wired. The nose is an interesting and enjoyable experiment. On the palate, however, this tastes to me like a thin „strange“ Armagnac of some sort. Not too bad, but nothing I would recommend. If you want an Armagnac- get one. If you are looking for an Enmore EHP profile (even a continentally aged one) you need to look somewhere else.

Well, now I finally have this Enmore in my glass... and I have to admit... the previous reviews are unfortunately correct. This Enmore is not worth the money... it is too weak and not very expressive in all facets... a real disappointment if you have bought a bottle like I did! ☹️

Very light and not very viscous. A fine, elegant nose. Very fresh, plenty of lemon, caramel, honey, milk chocolate, floral, hardly any wood and little spice. Spicy, woody and somewhat austere in the mouth, which is reinforced by an artificial aftertaste. Not strong, but the alcohol still stings a little. Long finish, caramel, honey and slightly spicy. Definitely a rum off the beaten track. Reminiscent of a continental matured Panama rather than a 200€ Demerara. Edit: I also notice the soapy notes noted by other tasters, but I don't find them unpleasant and far removed from the unspeakable Velier Saint James series (ok, I had to bash it now).

I'm not sure if my sample is good. It has such a soapy taste, that's why I don't give it any points. Regardless of the soapy taste, the rum is pretty thin, flat, not much flavor, also more of a column style rum for me. Overall, it has nothing to do with Enmore in my eyes. Too bad! I got myself a second sample - it doesn't taste any different.
Review by mto75
On the nose citrus fruits, coconut, caramel. On the palate floral, bitter, alcoholic (despite the rather moderate ABV), the finish rough. The sample is enough for me here, I don't need a bottle of it...
Review by Jakob
Overall an exciting package that still pleases the nose well, but on the palate seems surprisingly biting and somewhat oxidized to me. A herbal-musty note joins the otherwise pleasant overall picture in the finish, which I only know from bottles left open too long. A pity, unfortunately costs the rum some points - otherwise it would have been a very good release.

This Enmore doesn't quite convince. It's a bit too sweet for me. Caramel and chocolate are recognizable, also some coconut. On the palate very chocolaty, again caramel and some vanilla.
Review by Master P
Unfortunately not that great, for the price you expect a little flavor-intensive fireworks. This is far from it. Alcohol too strongly present and not much else offered. Smell is okay, a bit of fruit/coconut. Tastes very thin and in the finish some herbs and coffee. Good thing I didn't buy a bottle.

Tasting 01.07.2026 RX 20929 Enmore WuDramClan. Gift from Mr. Kevin Sørensen. Nose: Light fade, weak Guyana notes, coconut & vanilla in the background, a bit workshop. Palate: Flat mouthfeel, a bit bitter, coconut & chocolate, a hint of spices. Leaves nothing overwhelming in the mouth. I never expected that from Wu Dram Clan, sad to have such a bottle in stock. Glass: Chemical soapy smell. Tasting “In the cave”

I'm torn about this rum.... On the one hand, a mega nose that is really fun and brings a real Guyana feeling... On the palate, unfortunately, things turn out differently... it comes across rather thin with "strange" notes like soap and umami. The finish is relatively woody, dry, soft but good
Review by Martin Spooner
Sweetish on the nose. Definitely coconut. Perhaps a little vanilla. In the taste still the dominance of coconut quite oily. The finish is perhaps even medium long. All in all, a rum that tastes quite good to me. In the post-tasting a deterioration in the rating in particular.

First of all, thanks Jens for the sample. One of the most atypical Enmore I've had in my glass so far. To the facts, soft round, elegant, ABV very well integrated. All artifacts are in balance, nothing stands out excessively. It seems a little flat to me. You don't notice the 26 years in the barrel, it's definitely not the woody kind. There are a lot of small dull notes, probably due to the storage in the Armagnac barrel, which was very old, a rum of the category, love it, or hate it. I find it exciting because it is absolutely atypical. It's just a shame that the finish is very short.

Pear and banana on the nose, somewhat sharp and alcoholic. On the palate then quite flat and alcoholic. Pear, some compote. After some time then slightly soapy. Overall for me not a real highlight.
Review by Martin Švojgr
I'm pretty much disappointed. I was expecting an old enmore to show its old stale and dense theopic fruit, plums etc. What I got was a mild diluted bland rum that smells (albeit mildly) better than it tastes. I can't say its taste is particularly bad, but I just wouldn't expect chocolate, coconut, vanilla with a little woodiness from a 26 year old enmore.

Indeed hard to understand how two quite renowned bottlers can release something like this. Considering the price, a candidate for the Golden Raspberry of Rum 2024.
Review by Dr.Django
I'm totally surprised, apart from a little pale sweetness, vanilla and wood, I can't taste much here. maybe a little honey and green apple. the finish is very short and alcoholic. a team like bayern sometimes loses a game in saarbrücken. even a bottler like WuDramClan sometimes releases a bottle like this. i'm definitely looking forward to the next release.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A very unusual Enmore continental for the house style. The nose is rather soft and light, without a strong aromatic impact. You can detect wood, spices (vanilla, anise, licorice, mild chili), caramel, and some roasted notes leaning towards dark chocolate and coffee. In a fresher register, there are citrus fruits (orange), grape, coconut, dried fruits, as well as herbal and vegetal notes appearing later. Overall, it’s not bad but far from memorable. The attack on the palate is thin, if not bland. The aromatic palette is varied but not very complex: citrus and coconut combine with the spices from the nose, roasted oak, somewhat dull herbal notes, and a caramelized touch leaning towards bourbon, forming a rather unconvincing whole. The oily texture adds a bit of creaminess, but the profile is very boring on the palate. The alcohol is not well integrated, which is disappointing. The finish is moderately long but quite dull, without much surprise. You find coconut, grape, caramel, chocolate, coffee, spices, and herbal notes, but nothing really stands out. A cruelly frustrating rum that lacks depth, complexity, and charm. The value for money is not worth it.

... Enmore - drive distillery, now just a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have a flavor of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excites lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very expressive and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.
Review by Michal S
The aroma is pleasant, dried fruit with a pinch of spice and caramel. But there is not much in the taste, except maybe vanilla. If someone told me it was a better supermarket product, I would probably believe them. I wouldn't guess Enmore and 26 years (even if continental aging). Not recommended.

First of all thanks for the sample to Filip 👍. The scent is subtle to bland. Dried fruit, dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and a little molasses. Very interesting taste, almost to the point of some agricole. Combination of mint, herbs, coffee, vanilla and fruit. The finish could be longer.

I didnt have any expectations from taste or price, because I had a sample. The color- yellow or gold- like morning pee. The nose- I really like- fruity, sweet, little bit of wood..promising. The taste- because my first tasing notes were not saved the taste developed into a soapy tones. Originally I had something like harsh alcoholic taste with lemons, minty and coffee/ toffee. The aftertaste is quite short - I expected longer. Overall the profile is quite thin - nothing special here.. And I agree with someone from reviews that it reminds me more some cheap young Panama rather then Guyana.

Very pleasant on the nose, it really excites you to drink and you look forward to taking a sip :) sweet aroma, a bit of dried fruit. Dry on the palate, a light touch of technical. The finish is shorter... something is missing, it's not a fully developed flavor...

I would give this rum a 7.9. It is tastefull. Different than usual enmores, as other reviewers have pointed out. But considering the price tag, the rum drops significantly in ratings in my opinion. There are far better rums in this price range.

This was dissapointing. When I see Enmore 1998 I guess I expect a lot. But didn't get it here.

Review by Johnny Rumcask
The nose is still quite pleasant, clearly Enmore, some pencil. The taste is unfortunately very thin. A hint of Guyana with dark notes, some wood and spices. The alcohol could be better integrated. All in all, a pale distillate, one wonders why such thin stuff is bottled at all.
