8,3:On the nose, the first impression we get are esters, fermented tropical fruits like pineapple, some citrus, as a molasses is vegetal, wood roasted with caramel, pastry, there are also solvents. On aeration, the molasses is herbal, wood spicy. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is fruity, estery, with pineapple, later banana, the wood is roasted, sweet with brown sugar, caramel, marzipan, confectionery, a bit smoky and spicy with vanilla, anise. The molasses is covered in honey and vegetal with an olive. 8,4:The finish is long, dry and woody with roasted, smoky notes, spicy, as the fruits are tropical with pineapple, red and citrus, apple. The molasses is herbaceous.A very crunchy bread note rounds up our finish.. Edit:15.8.25, mixes great in Mojito

Big Hampden 8 Marks Collection Tasting HLCF 1 year: on the nose super fruity, pleasant ester notes, little nail polish. On the palate slightly watered down, balanced between esters and tropical fruits; some spice.

For the first time, both versions of this mark have the same aromatic base. Fermented on the nose with pineapple and vegetal notes. The palate is finally beautiful with well-integrated wood (but still dominant). A whisky/bourbon side at the end of the palate. The finish is long and elegant but quite thin. It seems that the higher the esters, the better a year in wood goes with well-integrated wood.
