4,8:On the nose, hints of esters, chemical, alcoholic, metallic, sulphurous and with a strong scent of petrol and no sign of anything else. 6,1:On the palate, the picture is ok, as the attack is fruity with hints of citrus fruits, watermelon quickly becomes the main player among fruits, otherwise the rum is diluted, quite spicy, a bit salty, alcoholic, with metallic patina, soapy, hints of cheese arise, grassy molasses.On oxidation, caramel, hints of chocolate and some almonds pop up. 5,1:The finish is short, dry, diluted, soapy, slightly acidic and bitter, with hints of melon, grass and spicy..

#4171 16.08.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after 24.2 km of walking. Relaxing in my recliner all the way back while watching 28 Years Later on Bluray. This one wasn't really me, but it is after all a mixer and it did well in a cola. Medium intense profile with fruits, polish, spice, light smoke, mint and some tobacco.

Either my taste receptors are completely out of order or this rum tastes like nothing. I expected a bit of ester, but unfortunately could only detect diluted neutral alcohol. Not even suitable as a mixer in my opinion.

There must be a reason why such bottles have lasted for years. I too only recognize Jamaica on the label here. Some fruit can be painfully guessed on the palate but Jamaica Funk looks different. A pity really.
