Sipped neat with a little air, this Indonesian molasses rum leans into coconut, vanilla and honey over roasted, woody depth. Several tasters were pleasantly surprised — the coconut is so clear one member guessed Barbados blind. At 60.1% the alcohol can sit a bit hot and slightly burnt if you rush it, so give it time in the glass.

Yes, the last one today is really okay, you can recognize a slight sweetness here, otherwise a bit of honey, vanilla and coconut. I had really expected worse, but it's quite tasty :)

Thanks to Lukasdrinkinghabits also for this split. Indonesia isn't exactly the category where I really know rum. But for me a solid bottling if you give it a bit of time and the alcohol dissipates a bit. Nice piece.

#6407 28.02.2026 Tasting at the "Nordlichter Treffen 2026". This is a surprisingly good rum especially when looking at the price tag. Intense and fruity in the flavours and nice coconuts and caramel. The palate is round yet spicy with nice roasted wood.

I remember the other Naga Full Proof 2011 better. This one feels a bit unbalanced overall and aromatically more burnt than well-aged. Aromas here include raisin, dark chocolate, strongly brewed coffee, and cinnamon. But all somewhat overshadowed by the not ideally integrated alcohol and a burnt bitter note. The 2011 is clearly better in my opinion. Blind, one might guess a semi-good West Indies or Foursquare or even Belize rum.
