Adelphi T.D.L The Whisky Jury (1754) 2005
People who chase Trinidad rum for its usual peach-and-caramel profile will find this one a bit off-script — mint, papaya and orange lead the nose, with pear, cherry and milk chocolate underneath, wrapped in dry oak. One taster blind-guessed a Foursquare with a Caroni finish. A couple of reviewers noticed a slightly dirty, chemical edge and a touch too much column character.

How does Adelphi T.D.L The Whisky Jury (1754) 2005 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Minty, fruity, oaky aged Trinidad sipper Well-liked 19-year TDL that goes fruity and minty rather than the typical peachy Trinidad style. A few found it slightly flat with a chemical edge, but the alcohol sits well at 58%.

8,6:On the nose, minty molasses, fresh, grassy with hay, some rubber, orange and pear, sweet toasted wood notes like pastry, burnt sugar, biscuits, spicy with anise, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, tropical fruits like pineapple arise, hints of tar and petrol, chocolate, gingerbread, flowery molasses. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is oily, dirty, slightly chemical with a bit burnt, toasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, bbq, nuts, spicy anise, vanilla, fruity with green, tropical fruits, cherries, orange and mandarine, as molasses is minty, on oxidation, some hints of sugarcane come out. 8,8:The finish is long, dry&tannic, with roasted oak notes like chocolate, nuts, caramelized, spicy and smoky, pairing minty molasses, dark with black tea and tons of fruits like dried, mango, cherry, strawberry, mandarine.

#6102 22.12.2025 Better enjoy a few samples before I have to pick up my wife very late in the evening today. Listening to some nice Trance on Spotify. Nose Light wood, papaya, light mint, faint floral, light orange, anise, light pear, faint chocolate. Palate Oily, light wood, faint roasted, light pear, light mint, light chocolate, light cherry, vanilla, anise. Finish Long, light wood, nutmeg, mango, light orange, faint chocolate, light mint. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, light mint, mango, nutmeg.

A wonderful, somewhat atypical T.D.L – instead of peach, mint, papaya, and orange dominate the nose, with pear and cherry on the palate. Both are delightful combinations! The whole experience is consistently accompanied by subtle wood and chocolate notes.
Review by Jussi Piirainen
On the nose: Woody, minty, chocolate notes, toasted notes, fruity notes like oranges and nice papaya notes. Little bit of maybe brown sugar on the background. Taste: Oily mouthfeel. Woody, light minty notes, sour cherry notes, roasted, dark chocolate notes, citrus notes, vanilla and spicy notes in the background. The abv is present, but the integration of alcohol is good in my opinion Finish: Chocolate notes, woody notes, roasted notes and spicy notes like nutmeg. Little bit of dried fruits and orange notes. Then the palate dries and you get light minty notes and black tea notes in the end. Long finish. Very good T.D.L with variety of notes nicely blended together. Typical T.D.L notes like woody, earthy and minty notes were more in the background on this one and fruity notes and chocolate notes did stand out more.

I haven't had many 2005 T.D.L in the glass so far, but they seem quite different. Blind, I would have guessed a Foursquare with Caroni finish. Vanilla and milk chocolate with slightly dirty notes. Plus some fruit and wood. The alcohol is well integrated.
Review by Johannes
Reminds me somehow of the Schotman 2006 TDL. Kind of a mix between Foursquare and TDL, a bit flat, alcohol is okay integrated, but with clearly too much column still.
Review by Herr K
