Spannend! Ich bin positiv überrascht. Am Gaumen relativ mild und fruchtig. Erinnert mich an einen Apfel-oder Birnenbrand mit ganz diskreten, hefigen Agricole-Noten.

Im Glas sehen wir natürlich einen farblosen Rum, der sich schön ölig schwenkt. In der Nase finden wir dann direkt viel mehr als wir erwartet haben, denn Rums von deutschen Brennern empfanden wir bisher sehr häufig als sehr „clean“. Anders hier. Der Geruch ist kräftig, wir riechen Zuckerrohr und unerwarteterweise fruchtige Ester, die uns an Apfel, Birnen und Pflaumen erinnern. Etwas Süßes können wir auch finden. Riecht ein bisschen so, als könne dies auch die Basis der Beenleigh-Rums sein. Das gefällt uns direkt sehr gut. Am Gaumen dann das gleiche Bild: Zuckerrohr, Birne, Quitte, Apfel. Eine dezente Würzigkeit, leicht süße Noten und eine sehr schöne Öligkeit, die ihm ein angenehmes Mundgefühl verleihen. Der Alkohol ist nicht perfekt, aber sehr gut eingebunden. Auch der Abgang ist fruchtig und nicht zu kurz. Das macht richtig Spaß. Müsste man eigentlich mal im Drink ausprobieren. Wir sind sehr positiv überrascht.
