The aroma seems shaper to me, but that's probably because the bottle was newly opened. The taste is very good. You can feel the youth, but there are beautiful spicy notes of red fruit, a little pepper, older wood and a little cinnamon.

It's like a variation of RX17355 but less intense, which isn't necessarily bad news because that rum was almost too intense and too compact. All the classic JM markers are there and they're very good as always. Christmas spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, everything we love in this very spicy but also so flavorful agricole profile. If you have some experience with tiki cocktails you'll find your match here quickly because many tropical flavors have settled well into this profile. Honestly, it's very good but at the same time it's a bit annoying because my last JM barrel proof bottle almost feels tight from all the flavors while this one is unfortunately a bit too thin in taste. Sure, for 60€ you can't complain but compared directly with the excellent Clément private cask cuvée opulence at the same price this one isn't as impressive. But well, the Clément is worth double its price and this one maybe +30% of its price. Not bad, but not incredible either. The strong point is probably the finish. Very, very long and pleasant, which is rare for a rum at this price (I can't mark it as long in the previous choices, I don't know why).
