Best sipped neat with a little time in the glass, because at nearly 61% the alcohol comes on strong. The nose is the good part — vanilla, caramel, ripe tropical fruit and a whiff of glue that pulls you in. The palate turns peppery and almost alkaline as the heat takes over, and several tasters wished the vanilla came back sooner. A pretty Fiji that doesn't quite taste like one.

A very pleasant nose to start the discovery of this rum. Glue, caramel, vanilla, tropical fruit and wood blend harmoniously. Very inviting! On the palate, the alcohol is a little biting on the first sip. Then ripe, caramelized fruit. Lots of greediness. Peppery vanilla finish. Correct length. The taste is not on a par with the particularly pleasant nose. But a nice selection.

The cask strength version is unfortunately not much better. It also seems more like Barbados rum than Fiji... The alcohol is rather poorly integrated and is very pungent, making the drinking experience rather unharmonious. Apart from alcohol, some caramel and baking spices, there's not much to be found here.

#7189 20.08.2026 As a lucky owner of a broken down car all I can do is hope it won't get too expensive, but I¨'m afraid it might....... Listening to some 180 BPM Trance on Spotify to try and reduce my stress...... Pretty decent rum when looking at the price tag at release. Fresh profile with spice, caramel, fruits, glue, wood, natural sweetness, nutts and a dry palate.

👃Les parfums de vanille et de caramel sont assez présents accompagnés d'un mélange de fruits mûrs et d'un peu de colle, tout en douceur. 👄 A cela vous ajoutez en bouche du cacao et un peu de coco et de cannelle. C'est huileux et puissant avec son taux d'alcool élevé et la finale est plutôt longue. On peut se laisser tenter.

Unfortunately not a typical Fiji profile. Rather boring, young fresh oak barrel with lots of vanillin. Not much else.

At first sight, the nose is pleasantly dessert-like, with vanilla and fruity (yellow) notes. The alcohol comes on gradually, but is not too invasive, and the first taste remains in the same vein as the nose, i.e. gourmand. But the alcohol, with its almost acidic spiciness, quickly takes over in a rather lasting way, leaving an alkaline and anaesthetic impression. The vanilla gradually reappears, but a little too late for my taste. Quite an exercise to drink it, alcohol too present for me.

Non petit rhum bien fait je trouve assez rond et fruité caramel bien présent et vanille. Une petite touche de fraîcheur en fin de bouche plutôt herbacé, pas très complexe mais bien. Je mets un 8 pour le RQP. Je trouve qu'il a des whatts et plutôt bien intégré
