Warehouse #1 Long Pond WRHS#1 Legendary Marques TECA
Anyone already hooked on Jamaican ester funk will find a lot to chew on here. It's a young, cask-strength TECA from Long Pond: glue and solvent up front, then overripe tropical fruit, banana, pineapple, young oak and a little vanilla and caramel. Several tasters call it an "Esterbombe" — brutal and unpolished, but reads surprisingly ripe for only two years.

- Ripe tropical fruit

Summarized by AI from community reviews.
Young, raw high-ester Jamaican funk bomb Loved by funk fans as a raw, high-ester Long Pond that punches well above its two years. Beginners should stay away — the glue and 64.4% heat are relentless.

Now we are moving into better realms :-) Great nose, lots of (overripe) tropical fruit, plus esters of course, but also some glue. Banana and pineapple on the palate and of course lots of esters again.

Excellent piece in its own style, but I didn't like it that much. It got little aging, raw, not barrel dominant.

8,2:On the nose, medicinal with esters, glue and nail polish, intense, funky, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, red, citrus fruits and apricots, roasted wood notes, caramelized, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, candied, dried fruits and coconut hints arise, fermented dairy, molasses is vegetal, allspice and vanilla, nuts, pastry, biscuits and burnt sugar join. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, glue, nail polish, funky, fruity with fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, yellow and citrus fruits, some candied, dairy notes, creamy, slightly astringent, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, tomatoes, red bell peppers, sweet with honey, the wood is roasted with caramel, burnt sugar, nuts, dark chocolate, spicy with vanilla, smoky. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, furry with toasted wood notes like caramel, dark chocolate, sweet, spicy, warm, meaty, medicinal with esters, rubber, slightly dirty..

A real ester bomb and a real surprise for only 2 years of storage. Primarily esters, glue and overripe tropical fruit on the nose. Again primarily esters on the palate, along with non-descript tropical fruits, young wood, caramel and vanilla, as well as light nutty aromas. The finish is again very fruity and sweet with light wood. Certainly even better in a drink than neat

On the nose: Ester and glue are the main notes. Under that there is a mixture of tropical fruits, light citrus and light woody notes. Taste: First you get the esters, glue and tropical fruit mixture. Then it evolves towards spices, like vanilla and caramel. You also get woody notes and little bit of nutty notes. Mouthfell is slightly warm, oily and dry. The abv is present, but its integrated nicely, especially for a high abv and young rum. Finish: Warm. Woody, spices and caramel notes. Mildly sweet finish. This was really pleasant surprise. Very good palate for a young aged rum and in general, good value for money at that price.

My favorit from the Warehouse1.cz ageing series in Virgin Oak.

Still not my cup of tea - jamaican ester rums. I need more time for it :-). I smell glue and some jindy of epoxy thing, besides esters. In taste it is dry strong punch which i need to get used to that. Definitely interesting experience.

Wow, I'm impressed! For only two years of aging it feels surprisingly mature with tropical notes, which most likely come from the Teca mark itself. I like Teca anyway...

A strong, young Jamaican from my favorite Long Pond distillery. The aroma already gives you a hint that this is not going to be a beginner's drink, as esters, glue and ripe tropical fruits dominate. The taste is a brutal estery ride, unrefined and strong. OK price/performance ratio.

Brussels Rhum Festival 15/03/2025 Warehouse produces just beautiful simple stuff. These are all great references if you want to get to know a distillery or even a brand. This one is no exception.

1: tasted @ Salon du Rhum 2024. 2: tasted @ Liquid Leuven 2026 (24/01/2026) A young rum with a powerful nose and palate of estery, tropical fruit and even glue notes. Probably great in cocktails, but enjoying it neat is my preferred way.

Nicely integrated alcohol, the glue power of caramel, vanilla and almond. Compared to the 1Yr a step forward.

Only 2 years, but already quite a bit better than the unaged.
