Spirits Museum Tasting 29th of March 2025. Un nez plutôt fruité mais l’atelier mécanique n’est pas loin. Un petit côté herbacé ici qui n’est pas courant mais qui donne de la fraîcheur. L’alcool est trop marqué en bouche même si la fraîcheur du nez se transforme presque en menthol. La finale est plutôt longue mais trop amère à mon goût et pourtant j’aime l’amertume. Un goût médicamenteux me dérange aussi. Bien moins bon que le premier Caroni de la série Forgotten Gems.

Direkt nach dem Einschenken ist die Nase erstmal sehr mechanisch und maschinell (Maschinenöl). Nach einigen Minuten lichtet sich das Dunkel und ich vernehme würzige und holzige Noten, perfekt verflochten mit dunklem Karamell, etwas Rauch, der tropischen Fruchtigkeit sowie Tee und Kräuter. Am Gaumen bestätigt sich die Intensität der Nase. Durch die Noten von getrockneten Früchten und Honig entsteht eine tolle Süße, welche ein schönes pendant zu würziger Holzigkeit, Leder, Tabak und Kräutern ist. Alles wird von einer warnehmbaren Rauchigkeit untermalt. Diese bringt auch den Schwarztee in den Vordergrund. Der lange Abgang ist ebenso intensiv und vielschichtig. Tabak, Fass und Leder harmonieren mit Fruchtigkeit, Kräutertee, den Erdigen Nuancen und etwas grüne Paprika schwingt mit. Der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden. Ein aufregender und leckerer Caroni.
