"A sublime nose" is where most tasters land — caramel, violet and passion fruit lead beautifully. The palate is more divisive: full cask-strength Réunion oak, allspice, a flash of strawberry, and an astringency a few reviewers say gets in the way. #5509 27.07.2025 Enjoying a bit of Savanna samples while watching Star Trek Discovery. Nose Fresh, round, light wood, light pear, faint herbs, light cinnamon, light orange, light floral. Palate Round, naturally sweet, light wood, light clove, light strawberry, light mint, light herbal, light citrus. Finish Medium long, round, naturally sweet, light wood, cinnamon, light strawberry. Empty glass Light chocolate, light mint, citrus, cinnamon, light floral, light strawberry.

Masterclass Savanna RCP: A sublime nose, with caramel, violet, soap, and passion fruit. The palate is clearly below, with an astringency that prevents me from enjoying this rum. A pity because the nose was promising.

Gourmet nose. Fruit and a well-present woodiness. On the palate, the alcohol is biting and the wood omnipresent. You find the caramel present on the nose as well as some spicy piquant spices. Nice length without particular evolution. You recognize the framework of La Réunion but the pastry side surprises me. Not the most accomplished I've tasted from Savana.

I couldn't resist opening it. The nose reveals itself with some restraint, but hints at subtle and intriguing aromas. On the palate a beautiful length settles, supported by a perfectly integrated 62.5% vol. alcohol, which never dominates the palate but structures it with elegance.

On the nose, Foursquare 😅, coconut, monolithic, but on the palate a nice surprise, orange zest, citrus, almost acidic attack, a little woody juice on the edge of too much, slight "astringency" that almost makes you doubt with an agricol. Nice. A bit annoying though, let's not lie.
