The handful of tasters who've found it mostly come away impressed, with one caveat worth flagging. This pours oily and mineral — fresh-cut sugarcane, citrus zest, pear and a clear menthol lift that a couple of people single out. The palate stays very cane-forward with real texture, though the herbaceous, grassy side runs long and a few found it a touch watery and one-note.

#5591 23.08.2025 Gotten 8 new samples from a friend to test. Heavy trance is playing on Spotify. Nose Fresh, sugarcane, citrus, light mineral, faint apple, light mint, light floral. Palate Oily, sugarcane, citrus, light floral, faint orange, faint mint, spice, light vegetal. Finish Medium to long, sugarcane, oily, citrus, light orange, spice, light mint. Empty glass Light mint, light floral, citrus, sugarcane. Very smooth profile that I think most people would like.

The approach is to be praised, but the important thing is in the glass. So here it is: Very beautiful nose, on the cane with a good base of caramelized banana, Unfortunately quite watery on the palate, of medium intensity, with a nice fragrance. Palate of a single thread, quite monolithic. For me it lacks breadth and aromatic gradation to really give pleasure. Medium length. Third nose in the glass is magnificent however. Quality-price ratio quite mediocre.

Tasted at the Multi Verres Spirits salon in Lyon in February 2025: very cane-forward, beautiful creaminess. Of course citrus, pears, flowers. But there is still a pricing issue... it's very good but...

Nice rich profile with a mineral side especially on the nose. Aromas of citrus zest, bitter almond, and a quite remarkable menthol side. Quite an original and interesting profile but there are other profiles I prefer.

Second batch of Marie Louise, this one has been fermented differently, with a more natural approach, to let understand the richness of the terroir and the B69.566 variety, and with a longer process. The rum has then rested for more than one year in stainless steel and has been very gradually dropped to 56%.

A gem that comes with a price but only 1.5 hectares, organic land, and a very beautiful story that we discovered at the 2025 Agriculture Fair, Rodolphe Payen welcomed us very well and conveyed this marvel.

A white rum I tasted at the Agriculture Fair at Marie-Louise's stand that I particularly enjoyed. Today, I find again this very distinctive profile with very soft notes of pear and at the same time a delicate bitterness on citrus. All topped with nicely spicy notes. A real success.

Tasted for the first time in MClass php, the nose enchanted me but the palate was too grassy for my taste, the price held me back. Tasted again at Will's in March 2025, the grass is still present but bothers me less. Good sweetness on the palate before the grass, which stays at a good length.
