Rum Nation Worthy Park Jamaica Pot Still Rum 2010

Sipped neat it's a hot one — several tasters say give it a splash of water and 20-30 minutes to open, then the classic Worthy Park profile shows up: glue and banana esters, oak, spice and a chocolatey, "très gourmand" streak. At 61.2% the wood and age read almost cognac-like. Restrained funk rather than wild.

The community says
  • Banana esters
  • Chocolate note
  • But: Very hot

Nose: Lot of oak. Roasted almonds, vanilla, milk chocolate, sandal, butterscotch & wax. Some bananas, mango, esters & lot of spices. Taste: rich & powerful. Little bit alcoholic. Recommend add some water. Wood, spicy, paper, vanilla, roasted almonds, dry dates, banana, wax, honey & little bit of esters. Aftertaste: long & rich. Lot of spices, dark wood, pepper & dry fruits with some esters & tar. Not bad. Really good rum. To much alcohol, but still tasty. Recommended use more water, it will be helping.

A very gourmet Jamaican with strong chocolate notes that add deliciousness to the island's usual notes of glue, banana, vanilla and spices. At no point do you smell the 61%.

Worthy Park

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 360 Rums

Worthy Park is Jamaica's true cane-to-glass estate. Its land was granted in 1670, it runs the island's oldest and most efficient sugar factory, and it makes rum from molasses it produces itself. After falling silent in 1962, the distillery was rebuilt from scratch in 2005 and now bottles some of the most respected modern estate rum in the Caribbean.
