Sipped neat, this is a gentler Caroni than most. At 43% the classic tar and rubber are there but softened, wrapped in candied tropical fruit, coffee, wood and a fresh menthol-eucalyptus streak that keeps showing up on the palate and finish. Several tasters call it a good "daily" Caroni or a first one to try. A few wish it hit harder.

Tasting a few Caronis from Bristol. A beautiful, expressive nose that hints at wonders to come. Rubber, candied tropical fruit, a hint of roast and noble wood. The palate is a little disappointing, diluted but with a very interesting menthol/fresh eucalyptus. The finish is a battle between menthol, bitter wood and machine shop. The wood wins out in the end. A fine Bristol rum, its over-dilution, for my taste, loses it points. On the other hand, it's easy to drink and very pleasant. Thanks Rodolphe for the sample.

"First Caroni experience that doesn't disappoint, this is a complex and unique product! To sum up, my tasting notes: Nose: Complex, Dried fruit, Coffee, Almond, Vanilla, Leathery On the palate: Minty, Toasted, Tobacco, Candied fruit, Pineapple Finish: Menthol".

Despite a significant reduction, we have a quite complex and expressive Caroni. Profile is very well balanced both dirty and round. Biggest drawback is the finish which is not very long and less complex. A very good surprise though 👌

02.04.2020 Had a nice tasting with my friends at a very nice hotel. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: wood, rubber, coffee, mint, earthy. Palate: light, wood, roasted, rubber, earthy, mint citrus. Finish: medium long, light, wood, mint, medium dry, tobacco. Extra note. Would have loved a higher ABV.

Very full, broad Caroni despite the low %%. Lacks the dirtiness and power, of course. But an interesting rarity. Nice nose with tar, licorice and leather aromas.

Caroni... 43° only! You'd think there'd be a few degrees missing, as we're used to it by now. But no, and this rum clearly proves it. You'll have to ignore the shrink and the pretty pictures on the bottles, because it's very greedy, very pleasant and sufficiently complex and well done. Personally, I loved it. 2nd passage: totally confirms the first 😁

A very greedy nose with beautiful Caroni markers. Quite fruity on the palate, the Caroni aspect is present but not exuberant. The finish is dry and sees the return of the greediness perceived on the nose. An everyday or starter Caroni. The reduction is very successful.

Magnificent Caroni, complex, with very fine aromatics that give it a certain vibrancy. The rum is very pleasant, you can smell the tar and it's woody, there's a scent of American wood with vegetal notes.
