On the nose I perceive dark bitter chocolate, wrapped in alcoholic sharpness! Very slightly some vanilla! On the palate the feeling as if I were biting into a rum ball soaked heavily in alcohol (similar to Flensburger Rumkontor)! Initially very tasty, but then follows an alcoholic sharpness that takes away any taste… after that only bitter old wood remains, also in the finish! A pity, the start was promising!

I had the theory that this rum could be a Ten Cane. I already discarded that when bottling the samples. The nose is super young, very unripe, sharp alcohol - which at least dissipates a bit. Spanish profile without depth. The substance for such a light rum is not so bad. On the mouth, unfortunately, even less going on than on the nose. That was nothing. No positive surprise out of nowhere, at best a barrel strength mixer when the Don Q 151 is empty.

I can't get much out of this rum. The alcohol is very present and I discover few other aromas besides that. In my opinion, it's definitely not a Ten Cane. The rum is cheap, but as almost everywhere, the saying applies here too: you get what you pay for.
