Oh, you can do that when you're sitting with friends and reminiscing about visits to Cuba. Then the bottle is empty by the end of the evening, because this typical Cuban rum (certainly with added sugar) is dangerously drinkable. A souvenir from my 41st visit to Cuba in 2019 and emptied yesterday at the best opportunity, so it has stayed with me unopened for a long time.

Bought yesterday at the liquor store as a cheap mixer. It's actually quite okay, you can't do much wrong with this rum. As far as I can remember, it was relatively spicy and also woody.

Very sweet rum - almost tastes artificially sweet…. Nose doesn’t prickle but doesn’t really offer much either - it’s not offensive, just a little…. “softly does it” kind of way And that sums up this rum really - again for 37.5% ABV this is actually quite pleasant (I’ve had worst 40%+ rums) however I’m not sure I would gravitate towards this as a neat sipper - probably geared more towards a cocktail maybe On the nose, there’s faint oak/woody notes, mild spices and some indistinct sherry notes (nothing massively sticking out, like all your generic sweet sherry notes have amalgamated into one generic sweet note) On the palate, surprising mouthfeel considering the ABV - nothing that will trouble the likes of a Foursquare ECS but again I’ve had 40%+ rums that have felt like water and were very thin. Light yet slightly oily but that overriding sweetness does linger but not in a nice way Glad I tried it however unlikely I’ll be buying this one

A great rum for beginners and brilliant for mixing highballs. Sipping neat is delightful though the rum is quite simple.
