I am positively surprised by this bottling. After having previously tried the reduced version in the glass, the cask strength immediately won me over. From the nose to the finish, it is clearly more intense, and the distinctive typical Brut de Colonne aromas come through nicely clear and defined. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Unfortunately, it is not available here.

#5443 03.07.2025 Relaxing with a few samples while listening to some nice new Trance tracks. Nose Intense, green, floral, light vegetal, citrus, faint melon, light grass. Palate Oily, intense, faint smoke, Agricole, citrus, sugarcane, light vegetal, light papaya, naturally sweet. Finish Long and warm, intense, light herbal, sugarcane, light floral, citrus. Empty glass Floral, citrus, light herbal, light mineral.

Isolated while fermenting as a paticularly iodine and floral expression, this very little batch has then been distilled in Montebello’s column by Marie Louise team, and kept aside for maturation during 1 year. It has very gradually been reduced from 78.8 to 71 which seemed perfect to reveale its personality.

Tasted at Boston Rum Week and so sad it’s not available in our markets. It had notes I haven’t tasted in an agricole, like confection sweetness and also a lot of fruitiness, slightly lower on grass. Really loved it and would buy a bottle ASAP if possible.
