The surprise here is that a column-still Panama actually holds your attention. Several tasters who usually find the style dull got pulled in by the smoke — barbecue, toasted wood, a faint dirty edge — sitting over dried apricot, mango and toffee. At 64.2% it runs hot neat, so a few drops of water help. Eleven years old and the alcohol reads unusually well integrated.

#5415 21.06.2025 Relaxing with a few sample while preparing for a private tasting in the afternoon. Nose Medium intense, wood, light smoke, fruity, dried fruit, light cinnamon, light coconut, light metallic. Palate Oily, medium intense, light spicy, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, dried fruit, light caramel. Finish Long and warm, swod, faint smoke, oily, dried fruit, faint caramel, faint chocolate. Empty glass Canilla, chocolate, light caramel, apricot, light orange. German Rum Fest 2024 sample.

Day trip Düsseldorf September 2025. Shop Spirit Bomb. The last one I tasted on site. It was an honor, Fabi. Nice Panama, we have vanilla, caramel and especially toffee, but also slightly smoky and spicy.

8,4:On the nose, yellow fruits like peaches, maracuja and mango, coconut, dried apricots, toasted young wood, smoky, with caramel, toffee, spicy with baking spices, allspice, resinous, herbaceous molasses, thick, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, vanilla is out, roasted nuts and leather, burnt sugar, the molasses is slightly flowery, earthy with tobacco, citrus fruits and berries also join. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is slightly sweet and smoky with roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, cream toffee, dark chocolate, leather, buttery, spicy with baking spices, allspice, slightly resinous, fruity with dried apricots and raisins, coconut, orange peel, perhaps mango, as the molasses is a bit minty. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry, slightly tannic, with roasted wood notes like butterscotch, chocolate, cappuccino, roasted nuts with hazelnut, slightly spicy and smoky, malty, fruity with dried, citrus fruits, some coconut.

In the smell still a fairly classic, light Panama rum with notes of burnt sugar, toasted wood, vanilla, and occasional candied fruits like papaya and mango. However, once it reaches the mouth, thanks to the successful cask selection, the aroma spectrum expands with some spicy, malty and partly almost "dirty", smoky components, which significantly enhances the rum and prevents it from sinking into easy drinkability.

Surprisingly fruity on the nose, very pleasant aroma. On the palate balanced, nice blend of fruits, vanilla, wood and subtle spice notes. Relaxed to drink, great value for money.

Second sample on the train, somewhere between Prague and Hamburg, right in the beautiful Elbe Sandstone Mountains 😌 Nose: Similarities to Guyana, spicy-roasty, malty-chocolaty, dried fruits, just a bit drier, with initial sharpness. Dried apricot and some papaya followed by tobacco and leather. I like it more and more with time in the glass. 8.4 Palate: here too, a certain similarity to some Diamond can be detected. Spicy-roasty, strong and initially on the dry side. Feels metallic-salty with plenty of licorice and distinct umami bacon. Also malty-chocolaty with nutmeg. It tastes better with time, I've had clearly worse in the glass. Good Panama for a very fair price. 8.4

Nice complex rum. First you smell dried fruits between vanilla, roasted cask and warm spices, then toffee. On the palate, the mildness surprises. Slightly fruity with cocoa and caramel-cappuccino on the finish.

Nice Panama rum from Berlin! While many Panamas are really very boring for me or only get flavor through corresponding finishes, I like this one very much. Nice Spanish style, comparatively complex and thus somehow quite tasty. Good barrel selection!

I'm ending today's Panamanian evening with this piece and hoping for a better experience than the three predecessors. The aroma is an unusual combination of fruit, herbs, and peated whisky. I'd guess the sweetness is natural, and it's something unexpected for Panama again. A pleasant, drinkable rum with its own character.

RumClub bottling from Panama. At least somewhat more exciting than many other representatives of the Spanish style. The bottling has pleasant fruit notes, nice wood notes, vanilla and some spices. Price-performance is good, but personally the smoky notes bother me.

While Panama rum usually bores me, this one pleasantly surprised me. The alcohol is unusually well integrated, no metallic note, but great fruit and spice aromas, paired with delicate smoky notes. Full-bodied, lots to discover and a very nice finish. For this age, I expected much less.

Surprisingly fruity but also the expectations in the form of vanilla, caramel, and toffee are met. Light spice notes in the medium-long finish. Offers more than I expected. It's a bit alcoholic/hot but that's not surprising given the alcohol content. Gets better with a little water.

Second Panama in my life but I'm impressed. Creamy, buttery, macadamia nut, something is in here that keeps telling me, more, more ! Sugar ? 🤣I hope not but it drinks really easy for the proof. Evolves a lot with times, you don't get bored with this one

Full, strong, sweet, sweet raisins, sweet fruit, caramel. At one point, the stronger alcohol tries to rise to the surface, but it is immediately covered by a bitterly sweet taste. Empty glass - nutty aroma, milk chocolate.
