This is a pretty sweet rum but the balance between the elements is pretty good. Would have liked a higher ABV because I think it would have benefitted this rum. The empty glass has really nice flavours.

8,3:On the nose, this rum is woody, round and roasted. We find coffee, brown sugar, that turns to caramelized and some orange peel. It is also fresh, with chlorophyll. From the roasted side, we have burnt sugar, it is slightly medicinal, there is some vanilla, chocolate and licorice, tannins, complex. The wood is toasted with coconut. Aeration gets the molasses and caramelized wood even more more toasted, becomes spicy, there are nuts, vanilla, caramel. It is fresh and juicy, perfumed, after a while dried fruits join in. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is soft, thick, gourmand and quite sweet with woody character, vanilla, caramel, nuts and a bit spicy with sweet spices, some orange peel, coffee, coconut note and a slight hint of dried fruits. Here is also a bit perfumed, round and balanced. 8:The finish is sweet, with caramelized nuts, toasted coconut, woody and some tannins...

It's interesting how the taste changes over time. I would probably have liked this rum in the past. It's quite mild and sweet. But unfortunately also a bit flat. A good entry-level rum, for far too high a price.

The aroma is sweet with a slight hint of wood, the wood is more pronounced in the taste, which I would not expect from this type of rum. The taste is very balanced, relatively sweet, it could be stronger.

On the nose it is delicate with caramelized sweetness, burnt sugar, some dried fruit and light distant wood. On the palate it is soft, somewhat full-bodied and extremely round with sweetness, dried fruits, cocoa and vanilla. The finish is delicate and short with something floral, but without any depth. Still, a very pleasant drink.

The scent is gentle, not very pronounced, honeyed, weak vanilla. The taste is very balanced, very pleasant, but nothing surprising. It's really good, like a nougat candy, I can drink that all evening.

Excellent rum, it has only one competitor in its price category- namely ZAFRA 30y rum. It melts on the tonque, is very soft, sweet and has a pleasant aftertaste. The aroma of this rum is woody, caramelized, with hits of dried plums and orange peel.
