Rich and dark Demerara nose which reminds me of tiramisu. Cacao, espresso, dried fruits and leather. This shows its heritage and (tropical) aging beautifully. On the palate this bottling is very smooth and very easy to drink at 50% ABV. Heavy on dried fruits (figs) and very sweet. Anyway, nice blend with a interesting and complex nose.

Many thanks to Tobias, who brought the bottles from England and shared them in our Franconian Tasting Gang. All in all, a very solid bottling that meets all expectations, but unfortunately still doesn't stand out.

Great blend of Savalle, Diamond Coffey and Port Mourant with tropical maturation. 50% is sufficient ... but a little more wouldn't have been a problem 😂 Delicious nose with dried fruit, leather, wood, chocolate, glue, spices and candied fruit. Also nice on the palate, but it seems a little oversweetened to me.

Clearly ahead of Berry's nine-year-old sister release. More balanced, nice sweetness, pleasant to drink without demanding too much.

Reminds me of Uitvlugt with glue, wood, tropical esters, lacquer, Diamond, fruity, alcohol very well integrated. I find it really good!

A small El Dorado tasting... The 13-year-old Berry Bros. comes with a delicious nose of dried fruits, burnt sugar and coffee. On the palate the notes reappear, along with quite a strong sweetness. Not bad, but can't quite keep up with most bottlings from the Rare Collection.

Nice, well-balanced and yet complex rum. The tropical aging is on point, only the reduction is noticeable negatively and costs a few points. Still gives hope that DDL after years of completely botched product policy is still able to produce good rums. Price at £90 also absolutely fair for what is offered.

Surprisingly good. Lots of lacquer and glue in the aroma. The 50% is very well integrated.
