This 23-year LROK gives the classic yellow-fruit and ester nose, then a rounded, oily palate of pineapple, spice, light wood and a licorice note some tasters loved. A few felt the long cask time thinned the funk and left it "unaufgeregt" — pleasant but not the wildest Hampden.

This is a beautifully complex Hampden with plenty of funk and steam. Classic on the nose and a perfect interplay of spice, sweetness, tropical fruit, some wood and esters on the palate. The finish continues this aromatic journey for a long time! Top

All in all, what you'd expect from a Hampden, pretty unexciting. The price that is being asked for it is not worth me getting a whole bottle of it. Nice to have tried, but nothing memorable. In my opinion, it's simply been in the cask too long and has lost a lot of its character as a result, and it seems a little too thin without that certain oomph.

#5560 15.08.2025 Relaxing with a set of samples while listening to some tracks by Oforia on Spotify. Nose Fresh, round, light wood, faint smoke, light banana, pineapple, spice, faint fuel, light herbal. Palate Oily, light wood, faint roasted, light pineapple, spice, balanced, light mint, medium dry, light pencil shavings. Finish Long, wood, light citrus, light herbs, pineapple, light licorice. Empty glass Vanilla, light varnish, light mango, light licorice.

In direct comparison with the SoR Ed. 21 (Rx11106), more spice and wood on the nose and less esters, licorice and fermentation. The SoR reminds me strongly of the HD LROK The Younger 2016, whereas the TWJ is slightly reminiscent of the 1992 HLCFs on the palate. In a direct comparison, the TWJ is just ahead for me.

Hampden single Cask Abfüllungen haben es wegen der starken Eigen-Abfüllungen des Produzenten per se schwer. Dazu versuchen einfach viele zu Recht hier Erfolg zu finden. Da ist Preiskampf programmiert... Dieser HD war relativ hochpreisig. Daher ist man besonders gespannt. Ich muss sagen ich bin sehr positiv überrascht. Schöne typische Hampden Aromen, geschmacklich ebenso und hintenraus eine richtig schöne eigene Lakritznote die diese Abfüllung für mich wunderbar abrundet. Preis hin oder her. Ein schönes Fass 👍

Liefert immer noch Hampden Qualität, aber der 2000er Jahrgang ist jetzt nicht der spannendste. Der Abfüllung fehlt es etwas an Power, aber ist trotzdem noch ein guter LROK mit gut eingebundenen Alkohol ohne Ecken und Kanten

This Hampden is a disappointment for me. Yes, the typical aromas are recognizable, but somehow it is totally flat and boring. I had expected much more. Especially for the price. There are quite a few bottlings from the distillery that are much better and also much more attractive in terms of price.

Wow che bellissima scoperta è stata questo imbottigliamento! Davvero ottimo e bilanciato, al naso la frutta gialla, citrica e tropicale si sposa perfettamente con la parte funky e speziata. Tutto si ritrova in bocca con la dolcezza ad accompagnare magnificamente il tutto. Sul finale è sempre la componente citrica a farla da padrone bon legata con il lato funky! Buono buono buono !

Typical Hampden nose with the well-known and beloved esters, yellow fruits etc. Rather disappointing on the palate: the notes are all there, but strongly muted by the long ageing. The barrel has clearly left its mark here. The fruity esters have faded into the background. The finish is long and the aftertaste is more pleasant again. Should have been taken out of the barrel earlier.

Sehr komplexe Nase mit sehr schön integrierten Ester-Noten, leichtem Holz und etwas Klebstoff. Im Gaumen unglaublich rund, sehr schön balanciert und mit leicht fruchtigen Noten von gelbem Kernobst und Steinobst. Im Abgang kommt für mich immer noch diese grüne Mango durch, die extrem faszinierend ist. Die schmeckt man noch laaaaange nach! Dieser HD geht nicht lauft in eine Richtung sondern verbindet die verschiedenen Nuancen unglaublich harmonisch miteinander. Für den Preis hätte ich effektiv viel weniger erwartet, greift zu!
