This is a beautifully complex Hampden with plenty of funk and steam. Classic on the nose and a perfect interplay of spice, sweetness, tropical fruit, some wood and esters on the palate. The finish continues this aromatic journey for a long time! Top

All in all, what you'd expect from a Hampden, pretty unexciting. The price that is being asked for it is not worth me getting a whole bottle of it. Nice to have tried, but nothing memorable. In my opinion, it's simply been in the cask too long and has lost a lot of its character as a result, and it seems a little too thin without that certain oomph.

#5560 15.08.2025 Relaxing with a set of samples while listening to some tracks by Oforia on Spotify. Nose Fresh, round, light wood, faint smoke, light banana, pineapple, spice, faint fuel, light herbal. Palate Oily, light wood, faint roasted, light pineapple, spice, balanced, light mint, medium dry, light pencil shavings. Finish Long, wood, light citrus, light herbs, pineapple, light licorice. Empty glass Vanilla, light varnish, light mango, light licorice.

In direct comparison with the SoR Ed. 21 (Rx11106), more spice and wood on the nose and less esters, licorice and fermentation. The SoR reminds me strongly of the HD LROK The Younger 2016, whereas the TWJ is slightly reminiscent of the 1992 HLCFs on the palate. In a direct comparison, the TWJ is just ahead for me.

Hampden single cask bottlings have it hard because of the strong own bottlings by the producer. Many rightly try to find success here. Price competition is programmed... This HD was relatively expensive. Therefore, one is especially curious. I have to say I am very positively surprised. Beautiful typical Hampden aromas, also in taste and at the end a really nice own licorice note that wonderfully rounds off this bottling for me. Price aside. A nice cask 👍

Still delivers Hampden quality, but the 2000 vintage is not the most exciting. The bottling lacks a bit of power but is still a good LROK with well-integrated alcohol without edges and corners.

This Hampden is a disappointment for me. Yes, the typical aromas are recognizable, but somehow it is totally flat and boring. I had expected much more. Especially for the price. There are quite a few bottlings from the distillery that are much better and also much more attractive in terms of price.

Wow what a beautiful discovery this bottling was! Really excellent and balanced, on the nose the yellow, citrus and tropical fruit perfectly marry with the funky and spicy part. Everything is found on the palate with the sweetness magnificently accompanying it all. On the finish the citrus component always dominates well linked with the funky side! Good good good!

Nice tropical fruity nose with slight estery notes. The taste confirms the nose. Pleasant companion that is not too heavy to drink. Relatively round and digestible. Still a rum with character. Slight increase in rating after re-tasting.

Typical Hampden nose with the well-known and beloved esters, yellow fruits etc. Rather disappointing on the palate: the notes are all there, but strongly muted by the long ageing. The barrel has clearly left its mark here. The fruity esters have faded into the background. The finish is long and the aftertaste is more pleasant again. Should have been taken out of the barrel earlier.

Very complex nose with very nicely integrated ester notes, light wood and a bit of glue. On the palate incredibly round, very nicely balanced and with slightly fruity notes of yellow pome and stone fruits. In the finish I still get this green mango, which is extremely fascinating. You can taste it for a loooong time! This HD does not run in one direction but connects the different nuances incredibly harmoniously. For the price I would have expected much less, grab it!
