Blind, you'd swear it's Jamaican — one taster clocked "viel Jamaika" and the overripe nose backs him up. Pineapple yogurt, cold smoke and a meaty, savory streak run through it, with the alcohol sitting well even at 50%. Members keep landing around 8.3-8.5, though a couple wish it hadn't been diluted so far and one found the acidity a touch sharp.

This would be a cool number blind. Lots of Jamaica. Awesome overripe nose, pineapple yogurt, cold smoke, meaty, medicinal, In the mouth also classic markers for Le Galion. Absolutely brilliant for the money. I'm not quite sure about the finish, don't know VO per se. At the percentages they could have been a bit bolder and diluted less. Still, the finish holds well.

So far I haven't had many Le Galion bottlings in the glass. Only the old Tabakstube. That was very interesting but too smoky and bacon-like for me. I like this bottling better. Very fruity, spices, alcohol very well integrated, a bit towards High Ester LP (so the spicy/meaty notes). Had a bit too much acidity for me.

Very nice nose with butter, yogurt, pineapple and gentle smokiness. The ABV makes it very drinkable. The meaty notes that come through here make you want a barbecue pairing. The fruitiness takes a bit of a backseat here, while the fresh wooden cask comes through more strongly with longer aging. Nice rum.

I find the rums from Galion super exciting! Flavor-wise I find these complex rums hard to describe. Lots of overripe fruit, yogurt, somehow something meaty. This one, like pretty much all the others, is very successful with a good dilution.

Silver Advent calendar RFC 2024 - biggest hit of the 4th day.. beautiful gallion, tons of fruit, technical tones, intensity grand aroma, pleasant ABV with a shorter finish, inviting to pour again and again..
