#5319 07.05.2025 Relaxing with a few samples while watching a TV series about psychopathic killers. Nose Wood, light roasted, light caramel, light plum, light pencil shavings, spice, raisin. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, spice, light caramel, light anise, light prunes. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint leather, light prunes. Empty glass Light licorice, light chocolate, faint caramel, prunes. German Rum Fest 2024 sample.

Wow, was wieder für ein schöner alter Rum. Bringt eigentlich alles mit und sogar ein bisschen mehr was man erwartet. Wenn er nicht so dünn und verwässert dann doch geschmeckt hätte, wäre einiges an Punkten noch mehr drin gewesen, aber die typischen Marker sind vorhanden.

Sample bei RhumAuction auf dem GRF eingepackt. An der Nase vielversprechend: Viele Trockenfruchte, tolle Grundfruchtigkeit mit dunklen Beeren, Karamell, Holz, Vanille. Am Gaumen dann leider doch etwas zu dünn und verwässert. Die schöne Nase zieht ih aber für mich gerade noch über die 8

Un nez de Demerara avec beaucoup de vieux bois verni, de la mélasse, du pruneau et du cuir. On ne sent pas l’âge de ce ce vénérable rhum embouteillé dans les années 30. En bouche un côté très fumé, de la douceur (mélasse) du vieux bois verni. La finale est plutôt longue, avec une amertume boisée marquée. Une certaine émotion en buvant ce rhum d’une centaine d’années. J’imagine un vieux château avec un feu de cheminée.

Alter Demerara-Rum aus den 1930er Jahren - weckt erstmal Neugierde, aber auch ein bisschen Ehefurcht. In der Nase noch sehr stimmig, angenehme Schwere von Süsse, Holz und dunklen Früchten. Demgegenüber fehlen am Gaumen dann aber doch ein paar PS. Insgesamt gut trinkbar, aber keine Offenbarung.
