Sip this one slowly and give it air — at 65% it bites, and nearly everyone says so. The nose wins people over: tropical and red fruits, glue, a little vanilla and oak. Then the palate turns sharp, metallic and minty, with an Amarone-cask edge that splits the room. One taster called it a "tropical Jamaican Caroni clone." A few water drops help.

Ich habe diesen Rum auf der Kirsch Cruise probiert. Es war eine Hass-Liebe! Auf der einen Seite ein schlecht integrierter Alkohol, das Amarone Fass welche die Überhand nimmt und am Ende noch der Ausgabe Preis. Positiv Fand ich die coole Menthol-Minz (Erinnert stark an Fisherman Friends) Note. Bei einem Preis von <80€ hätte ich den mitgenommen.

Ooof der brennt wirklich nur, wenn man nen schlechten Tag hat - aber wenn man mal nen guten Tag hat, wo man das Brennen weniger merkt ist das einfach nur ne krasse Geschmacksexplosion. Aber bisher haben fast alle EMBs, die ich bis jetzt im Glas hatte, extrem gebrannt - deshalb führe ich das auf eine destillattypische Zusammensetzung der Ester und Congener zurück. Die Nase ist verdammt schön mit Assoziationen von gelben Früchten,Klebstoff, Vanille und Eichenholz. Am Gaumen liefert er zuerst kurz die typischen EMB Marker und geht dann in einen sehr langen und dreckigen Abgang über. Wirklich jeder Schluck wechselt im Abgang und ich habe entweder voll das rosinige Amaroneprofil ( für mich das beste Amaronefinish, das ich bis jetzt bei einer Spirituose hatte ) - oder die Rinde von sehr lange gereiftem Hartkäse auf der Zunge. Ich finde diesen Rum mega Spannend und komplex - 100€ finde ich jetzt auch keinen übertriebenen Ausgabepreis bei 9 Jahre tropischer Reifung +x . Da ich die wirklich sehr ernüchternden Bewertungen für diesen Rum subjektiv überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen kann, vermute ich, dass vielen entweder das Amaroneprofil in Verbindung mit EMB nicht zusagt oder man schon ab der Schärfe, xie der Rum auch wirklich mitbringt, nicht wirklich weitergeschmeckt hat.

Der Alkohol beißt ein bisschen an der Nase. Wenn man darüber hinweg sieht, gibt es trop. Früchte, etwas Klebstoff, Gewürze, medizinische Noten, etwas Säuerliches (das Amarone Fass?!). Gefällt mir ganz gut. Am Gaumen dann leider die Ernüchterung. Ziemlich medizinisch, pfeffrig, stechend und auch hier ist der Alkohol leider zu präsent.

Früchte, Holz, metallische Anklänge und ein recht intensiver Alkoholeinschlag. Ein fordernder Rum, das EMB-Profil bleibt erkennbar aber verliert sich im Finish und dem hohen Alkohol etwas. Braucht etwas Zeit im Glas, für einen Messeindruck mit direktem Genuss nur bedingt geeignet.

Als Welcome Drink auf der Kirsch Cruise gereicht bekommen. Die Nase war noch recht viel versprechend was der Gaumen leider nicht halten konnte. Für mich zu alkoholisch und zu scharfkantig. Schade Kirsch, das war wohl nix. Tut mir leid, aber die Bewertung reicht nicht mal für angenehme er ist einfach nur mittelmäßig

Probiert auf der Rum-Cruise am 13. GRF: In meinen Augen ein Totalausfall und einer Messe-Abfüllung nicht würdig! Rau, scharfkantig, wenig gutes vom eigentlich leckeren EMB-Profil. Das Finish ist wahrnehmbar, hat aber seinen Job alles andere als erfüllt, schade!

Auf dem 13. GRF probiert. Hat mir tatsächlich gut gefallen obwohl der Alkohol nicht perfekt eingebunden war. Habe es aber nicht als so dramatisch empfunden. Die Nase noch nicht so besonders hat mich der Rum im Abgang voll abgeholt. Das hat Spaß gemacht. Eukalyptus und Menthol gemischt mit dunklen Früchten und Fass. Das war nice.

Das Begrüßungsgetränk auf der Kirsch Rum Cruise. In der Nase noch ganz vielversprechend war der Fasseinfluss durch das Amaronefass einfach nicht meins, schade hatte auf einen entspannteren easy Sipper als Sinderabfüllung gehofft.

An der Nase recht fruchtig und eigentlich auch recht lecker. Am Gaumen wird’s dann etwas ruppiger. Das Amarone finish hat den harschen Rum etwas abgerundet, richtig gut schmeckt er mir dennoch nicht.

Die Nase ist recht fruchtig, am Gaumen kommt er dann aber ziemlich brachial und ungezähmt daher. Erst recht bitter mit Minze, Kräutern und Eukalyptus, die Alkoholintegration könnte besser sein. Seine Stärken spielt er dann im vergleichsweise langen und fruchtigen Abgang aus. Etwas Wasser macht ihn runder und besser.

Etwas zu alkoholisch scharf am Gaumen. Das finish ist mir persönlich zu intensiv/dominant passt sonst aber generell gut zum EMB mit tropischer Lagerung. Dennoch ein solider rum. Für 100€/70cl allerdings nichts wovon ich eine Flasche bräuchte.

Extrem bissig, scharf und unausgewogen. Nase war vielversprechend, aber im Mund komplett enttäuschend. Da Bewertung ab 6.0 angenehm bedeutet, Rating entsprechend niedrig. Leider überhaupt nicht angenehm und größte Enttäuschung auf dem GRF 2024.

Nase top, Gaumen flop. Sorry ... Zu alkoholisch und scharf, metallisch für meinen Geschmack. Auch wen die Aromatik Grundsätzlich lecker ist und das Amarone Finish eine spannende Geschmacksnote rein bringt. Hätte ich mehr erwartet...
