Schon mehrfach im Glas gehabt und immer wieder ein Erlebnis. In der Nase schreit einem der alte Grand Arôme seine Identität förmlich entgegen. Sehr konzentriert, Elixir-artig. Die lange Zeit im Fass ist deutlich spürbar, Holz-Saft mit Leim und Erdbeer-Gummibärchen. Am Gaumen ebenfalls sehr konzentriert, als wäre er einreduziert worden. Hier kommt eine Portion Säure dazu, wie Limettenschale. Trotzdem bleibt das Wechselspiel zu Haribo Primavera und weißen Gummibärchen. Holz ist definitiv auch da, die 17 Jahre tropische Lagerung gehen nicht spurlos vorüber... als hätte man das Fass gleich mit ausgequetscht. Konzentriert, intensiv, facettenreich. Elixir de Réunion. Abgang: Bleibt lange. Die Säure zieht sich zurück und es bleiben Erdbeeren, ein Hauch Leim und Eichensaft.

Much better IMHO than the 2000 19y rare cask savanna. Much more fruit and grand aroma style! Passion fruit, strawberry, papaya and mango in combination with black tea and eucalyptus, as well as cinnamon, vanilla and olive brine. Surprisingly, the 17y in the barrel are more in the background here. Overall, really very balanced and delicious!

Lots of overripe fruit. Lots of wood influence, but not too bitter. An outstanding Grand Arôme.

Hmmm, this is very tasty! A full fruit basket with a pleasant sweetness, woodiness and bitterness. Sweet, creamy and pleasant on the palate. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Surprisingly less astringent for a Grand Arome, which may be due to its advanced age. Instead, more wood and sweet ripe/overripe fruit come to the fore.

Schon die Nase ist verlockend mit einer Vielzahl an Aromen. Am Gaumen dann Tee, Gewürze, Tictac Wintergreen, etwas Erdbeere und eine Art Holzlack oder Holzbeize. Ein sehr schöner, intensiver Savanna. Der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden und gleichzeitig wirkt er nicht zu dünn. Sehr leckerer, wenn auch recht teurer Savanna.

A rum like a concentrate. Thickened fruit compote. Spectacular nose, the tropical maturation oozes from every pore. The seductive impression of the nose cannot quite be maintained on the palate; the acidic notes that appear here are a little too present for me. A powerful, sophisticated rum, not for every day. (Note: bottle price not taken into account in the rating)

Whisky Live Paris 2024 (Messebewertung, nur Gesamtnote und persönliche Kaufempfehlung): Schöne Nase, feuchtig und würzig. Am Gaumen schöne Reife durch die relativ lange Lagerung. Genau richtiges Maß an Holz. Hätte sehr gerne eine Flasche davon.

What a great distillery Savanna is. I had the joy to participate in the RX Savanna tasting and the variety of rum styles they offer is amazing. This one is on the light ester side with a lot of dried tropical fruits, acid, phenol on the nose. A bit of a fruit bomb. On the palate the cask pushes its way through. Adstringent, dry, sour, fruity with surprisingly the influence of the cask lasting longest on the finish.

Tasted at the Kirsch Cruise 2024 in Berlin. Nice drop that you were allowed to taste, in my opinion very solid, but unfortunately not the one to fly over. In my opinion, there are far better bottlings out there

Very special grand arome, I have taste this 4 times. Sometimes it is too bitter, other times it’s just fruity☺️

The rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favourites. I recommend everyone to try especially the higher ester pieces like Grand arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in a few little drops of liquid for a long time.
