Saint Maurice La Belle Cabresse
At 50%, you might brace for a punchy pour, but this white agricole from French Guiana's last distillery drinks fresh and delicate. Expect lime, sugarcane, grassy and floral notes, with a peppery, slightly oily finish. Most tasters reach for it in a ti punch — lime, cane sugar and off you go. A few sip it neat and find it pleasant if a touch mild.

How does Saint Maurice La Belle Cabresse taste?
Aggregated from 33 community reviews.
Fresh, floral white agricole for ti punch Regulars call it a dependable ti punch bottle — fresh, floral and citrusy. The honest catch: it lacks a bit of body and length, and one or two find it unspectacular.

Review by Stefan Persson
This brand, La Belle Cabresse, is produced by the Saint Maurice Distillery in French Guiana. It’s the only distillery left in French Guiana nowadays. The Sugar Refinery and Distillery was founded in 1935, but it was at first in 1980 that the current Saint Maurice Rhums Company was founded and the sugar refinery activity closed some years later. Today, the estate has their own sugar cane fields around 100 hectares big. The label of the La Belle Cabresse is a little special, while keeping its historical imprint, the “Chabine”, a Guyanese woman with her Madras headdress which most Agricole brands have left because of its strong connotation. This Agricole Blanc Is distilled in a column still and the result is a fresh and delicate Agricole. The final is rather long. Overall I think it’s great neat. It also works well in a Ti Punch, but can’t really compete with the best ones in my opinion.

Aromatic and flattering unaged rum.
Review by Émile Shevek
The nose is marine, creamy sweet, vegetal and slightly citrusy. The palate is marine with cooked seafood (such as limpets, bites, mussels, urchins), then iodized salt, but also cane sweetness, some pepper and citrus, and a vegetable side (chamomile). The finish is short but overall has its own personality. In the empty glass fermented, floral, vegetal.

Rhum agricole originaire de la Guyane Française. Rhum très herbeux et floral. Meilleur frais en Ti punch !
Review by Benoit Mahe
A pleasant white rum for ti punch. It lacks a little character and pure length, but remains a safe bet.
