Ten Cane doesn't usually get 16 years and cask strength treatment, so the surprise here is how dark and chocolatey it turns — cherry, red fruit, wood and that classic Trinidad mint. Tasters call it well-rounded and oily, though one admits it fell short of high expectations. There's a faint medicinal edge too. Solid aged Trinidad, not a revelation.

#5018 31.12.2024 Relaxing watching TV while waiting for 2025. Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, fruits, cherry, light mint, faint chocolate. Palate Oily, round, wood, light roasted, fruits, dried, fruit, light cherry, light chocolate, light mint, faint smoke, faint anise. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, light cherry, light olive, light chocolate, faint salt. Need to rest to upen up properly. The empty glass has faint glue, licorice and faint ginger.

The color - dark brown with red tones.. The nose - cherry, wood, fruits The palet - strong alcoholic flavor which is accompanied with cherry, wooden and little bit minty tones… The aftertaste- at first it was quite short, but with bigger syp it’s medium to medium long. I am little bit disappointed - I had a much higher expectations.

In the aroma, the influence of sherry, wood, red fruit stands out; in the taste, chocolate is very noticeable, there is also classic Trinidadian mint. Basically okay, but there are better rums from this destination on the market that make sense to try.

RX21611 Beautiful Ten Cane. Chocolate, wood, roasted, red fruits, touch of herbals/mint. Everything I need from top Ten Cane. Everything is well rounded here and this is the best of the three compared here. RX8846 The nose is nice combination of roasted, chocolate and woody notes. I get touch of citrusy notes with red apple that bring bit of freshness to balance the dark notes. The taste is sweetier than the other two but not overwhelming. RX10418 The nose is bit flat for me. Overall seems sweetier due to notes of tropical fruits especially ripe banana that seems to me sort of misplaced here. The taste is spicier and bit technical and has alcoholic bite.
