Intense Hampden with a powerful ester profile. On the nose, fermented fruits, pineapple, glue, and citrus zest, accompanied by a light herbal spice. On the palate, explosive with sweet fruit, vanilla, and spicy wood; the alcohol brings a good punch but stays well integrated. The finish is long, warm, and slightly salty, with the typical funk note. A characterful Hampden that clearly reflects the distillery and brings a lot of energy to the glass.

Another of the many 2014 <>H releases. But this time one that can largely hold its own against the others. Both the nose and the palate are classic and easy to enjoy despite the rather high ABV. However, only after a while in the glass and subtle sips 😉. I think it's great

Wow, congratulations Stefan, great cask selected. I don't have a direct comparison to other bottlings of this vintage at the moment, but from memory, this one is easily in the upper range. Very good <>H . Delicious fruit marzipan nose ... Alcohol well integrated. On the palate lots of fruit esters and again marzipan ... Pineapple papaya and a velvety butteriness in the mouth . Really strong in Mai Tai.

Another great Hampden. There's no surprise in the tasting here, but there is an excellent Jamaica-funky Hampden. The alcohol is well integrated. I'll probably have to keep a bottle of this in the house. Thanks for the sample @Zabo

Can only agree: Good 2014 <>H! Fat, warm nose with fruit, esters, wood, spice and varnish with solvents. In the mouth then also great in texture, flavors (lots of baking spice) and ABV integration. One of the better ones 👌

In my Hampden <>H 2014 tasting today, this one took the first place together with Nobilis <>H. In direct comparsion I can‘t find any (big) difference to crown a clear winner. The alcohol is integrated very well.

Today 2x 2014 <>H in the glass: the GRF Nobilis 68.5%, 10-year-old (3 tropical), the FRC 67.3%, 9-year-old (5 tropical). The differences on the nose are really small. Both with fermented fruit, cake / baking mix, cream. The FRC is perhaps a little rounder. But that could also be due to the slightly lower ABV. On the palate, both with citrus marmalade, spiciness, toasted barrel, brine. I like the FRC a little better here too, somehow rounder.

9:On the nose, the esters are strong, the first impression we get is a very balanced and round rum with overripe tropical fruits like pineapple, red fruits, dried fruits like raisins, prunes.The wood is roasted, charred with gourmet caramel, nougat, marzipan, vanilla. The solvents are well tamed. As we air the rum, the molasses is vegetal, balsamic, we could also notice very tempting confectionery...This notes are nicely integrated with tropical fruits and woody notes... 9:On the palate, the attack is tasty and delicious with creamy charred wood notes, overripe tropical fruits and dried fruits.The alcohol integration is great, like drinking liquer.The molasses is strong, but nicely paired with woody, fruity notes, it brings vegetal, herbal touch and some brine, licorice. The rum quickly becomes dry, but stays buttery, as our tasting buds are swimming in delicious confectionery with juicy marmelade, covered with creamy toffe caramel, vanilla.😋 9,1:The finish is also tasty and balanced, with all kinds of overripe fruits, charred wood and earthy cigar.

This starts on the nose with classic Hampden impressions. Lots of tropical, overripe fruit 🍍 especially, plenty of esters, and a certain sweetness comes through. On the palate, I find it rather dry. For me, bananas stand out here, along with some marzipan. Definitely pleasing but needs to be re-evaluated, so for now a very good 85.

One of the last rums I still have from Eugen, hope he's doing well. Typical Hampden profile, (overripe) tropical fruits like pineapple and banana, also plenty of esters on the palate. Strong stuff, better than all the others from yesterday :)

Really great Hampden! Very inviting nose and meets all the associations you would expect: Pineapple, esters, tropical fruits, glue, nice spice and lots of marzipan. Top bottling!

Very very easy drinking Hampden! Alcohol unbelievably well integrated. Brings everything a Hampden needs. Marzipan, tropical pineapple, salted caramel, brioche pastry like croissants and nice roasted notes in the finish. Great!

Admittedly, the 2013/2014 HDs are all quite similar, but for me the FRC is one of the better bottlings. Relatively round and balanced, but still brings the typical high ester profile. Alcohol is very well integrated here.

Side-by-side of ten recent-ish 2014 <>H bottlings: On the nose the bottlings are pretty much on a comparable level. RumClub and Family Ricci take the crown today, showing a bit more fruitiness relatively speaking. Overall the bottlings with some reduction provide noticably less intensity. I prefer the higher/full proof bottlings here. Again, on the palate the factor to set the different bottlings apart comes down to fruitiness and alcohol integration. Among the lower ABV bottlings the V&M Star(h)um takes the crown with TWJ coming in second. The difference in ABV is even more pronounced on the palate with the full proof version clearly ahead. Overall winner here is the RumClub, followed by Family RIcci again. Most balanced with lots of funk yet also a good amount of cask impact and good alcohol integration. All in all non of the bottlings is bad in any way. There are only minute differences in the bottlings and the winner might change on another day. I‘m very curious to see how the vintage will develop over time - assuming we‘ll see some more bottlings in the coming years.

This <>H comes across on the nose as extremely buttery. On the palate then wonderfully fruity and balanced. Wow, Stefan has chosen something great again! For me personally among the <>H I've tried recently, this is right at the top. Edit: Another 0.1 points more, it's just a great bottling and with CoR and Nobilis in my personal top 3 <>H.

👃 Une bombe d'ananas surmûri, d'épices et d'esters. Puis, douceur de crème pâtissière vanillée dans une galette des rois des plus savoureuse. Beaucoup de fruits tropicaux fermentés, de produits chimiques organiques (solvants, vernis, colle). 😋 Tout ce que j'attends d'un Hampden et même un peu plus. Une bouche onctueuse, gourmande, sur une tarte meringuée aux ananas saupoudrés de grain de sel, des esters puissants mais contrôlés, un mélange de fruits tropicaux surmûris agrémentés de piments. ⛳ Trigéminale à souhait, longue, chaude, vive, (très) pimentée, esters, colle forte, sèche, fruité tropical et très mûr, caramel de mélasse. 🫗 Le lendemain, le verre dégage une agréable odeur de chips au bacon. 💡 Un très bon représentant du millésime 2014 défini par des esters typiques en toile de fond et des variations autour de l'ananas. La texture et l'onctuosité en bouche lui fait gagner un point dans mon système de notation. Pas de note d'olive de mon côté. 87 > 88/100

Great Hampden with surprisingly well integrated alcohol for the strength. Besides the very present esters you smell and taste the classic aromas of tropical fruits, especially pineapple, as well as wood. The texture can be described as velvety, which makes the finish very pleasant.

The next <>h in the round. The nose is not as dominant as many of his brothers I know, but of course again fruit, ester, pineapple. On the palate, however, very awesome and a rollercoaster of fruits. With a very long finish! The alcohol is well integrated.

Pleasant Hampden, which appeared as an exclusive bottling for the bottle shop in Heilbronn. Makes a very good impression because it comes across balanced and rounded. Especially in the mouth not overly dry, but with natural sweetness.

With over 67% ABV a real beast and another really successful bottling from Stefan Glück from Heilbronn from Bottleshop. Completely overripe fruits, but not the same old mush but more towards papaya and banana - not the same old aromas of pineapple and co. In addition, a very velvety marzipan note in the nose as well as on the palate. It took me a moment to work that out - and that's why it's really fun! You can spend a long time with it, beautiful piece 😎

This is clearly a symphony of technical aromas with tropical fruit and I even feel a pinch of herbs. I really enjoy this. On the palate, a load of esters with pineapple. The finish shows molasses, pineapple, leather, spices, licorice. Too bad the taste isn't as top-notch as the aroma. It feels rather raw to me.

Rate 8.3 I’m in the process of going through all the rum I have tasted. And try to give them a fair assessment from what I can remember from when I tasted them. Grade them as I would if I tried them today. Decent Hampden and a sweet spot mark.

... Hampden is a distillery producing incredibly fragrant rums. That's why a large part of its production is used as a base material for perfumes. I recommend tasting the gentle yet incredibly rich rums older than 20 years, or very young rums with a high ester content called DOK. Don't be afraid of the high alcohol volume ;)

Very nice The nose very marked by very ripe (but not rotten) fruit, honey, esters, varnish and a little wood-fire type smoke. The palate is beautiful, warm and unctuous to perfection. Very good length. Bravo to the bottle shop for this superb selection!

Absolutely beautiful 🇯🇲 rum. Fine esters, lots of fruit and funk. Daily sipper. Not too sophisticated, but not flat either. I like it and it's a little gem for the price.

As soon as I opened the bottle, the characteristic aroma of overripe fruit and esters filled the room. There is a really big fruitiness very sweet, for me a very well integrated alcohol. On the palate there are esters, a bit of varnish and then a heap of overripe fruit, bananas, pineapple, a big dose of sweetness and a warming finish. I'd rank this among the very hilarious cask strength Hampdens.

Color bright amber. Quite OK. The nose then typical Hampden for the mark. A mix of fruit esters and glue esters. Ripe banana, yellow fruity, full-bodied - great in the blend and simply delicious. The ABV perfectly integrated. The palate super aromatic, round and despite more than 67% easy to drink. This is really good. The finish medium-long on the fruit notes followed by a gentle woody aroma. At the very end a hint of bitterness, which positively completes the aromatic profile. Sooner or later a bottle has to come.

In der Nase erst eine Mischung aus Klebstoff und Buttercreme. Nach etwas Stehen verschwindet der Klebstoff zum Glück und es bleibt eine sehr leckere Buttercreme mit Nuss und Schokolade oder ein Teig mit zuckrigem Frucht und Karamellkern. Die Nase gefällt mir sehr gut, riecht wie ein leckerer Nachtisch. Im Mund kann er leider nicht mithalten. Es dominiert ein typisches Hampden Aroma, das mich an heißes, öliges Metall oder Lappen erinnert mit etwas Obstsalat, was dann auch den Abgang ausmacht. Allein für die Nase lohnt er sich schon, wenn er am Gaumen mithalten könnte, wäre das einer meiner Lieblings-Hampdens. #35:260113
