8,3:On the nose, esters, glue are the first thing we notice, quickly diminshed, some tropical, yellow fruits.A wood is roasted with nuts, spicy with vanilla. On aeration a true face of this rum comes out with red berries, especially raspberry, then delicious apple crumbles with almonds. We notice some perfume and lemon peel, when oxidized well. 8,6:On the palate, esters, glue attack us at first, with fermented tropical and red fruits, especially raspberry, cherry, the wood is roasted with caramel, spicy and when well rested, a bit resinous. Oxidation does a great job to grapefruit, dried currants and black berry, added to a chocolate fudge, we get a delicious dessert. Some metallic and vegetal notes are also present. 8,3:The finish is long with dry, spicy and roasted wood, a bit bitter, earthy and tasty red, dried fruits, black berry...

I can't do anything with this bottling.... On the nose, I only perceive vanilla and a few sweetish yellow fruits. The palate somehow gives even less. You can just perceive some DOK influence, then bitterness, metallic aroma and weak sweetness. Somehow that's nothing. Too bad

A quick sip while I sampled it. The first impression is not bad, but not outstanding either. The DOK finish is undeniable in my opinion. The palate is better than the nose. As expected, an extremely solid bottling once again at a fair price. Edit: now tasted again at my leisure. My conclusion is good, but I wouldn't necessarily need another bottle.

As I feared: dead-finished. The Hampden DOK finish completely irons out any aromas that the Haiti might have had. Quite alcoholic and sharp-edged. A pity, as I am actually a fan of the 2004 barbancourts. But there is virtually nothing of the Haiti DNA to be found here aromatically.

The nose is not a revelation at first and rather unpleasant to meaningless with an alcoholic note ... but gets better after a little standing time. Then actually better on the palate. Buttery with caramel over the fruit and a few influences from the DOK cask. Still not a winner.

Hampden finishes make me immediately curious. In this case, that doesn't work for me. The DOK finish is weakly present, hovering over the aromas like an impenetrable veil on the palate. somehow uninspired and alcoholic.
