Romdeluxe Hampden Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 55 MJH3 2012
Glue and solvent up front, then a wave of tropical fruit — banana, mango, pineapple — with caramel drizzle and toasted coconut husk. This is a low-ester Hampden, so the funk stays gentle. At 60% it runs hot and peppery neat; a few drops of water opens up vanilla cream and softens the burn. Members find it easy-drinking but not remarkable.

How does Romdeluxe Hampden Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 55 MJH3 2012 taste?

Easy low-ester Hampden, hot but tame Most call it a relaxed, low-ester Hampden — pleasant tropical fruit and easy to drink, but a bit flat and peppery. A good daily sipper rather than a wow bottle.

#4950 02.11.2024 Had a great tasting with Kim from Romdeluxe with both old and new releases. Nose Light, fresh, light ester, fruity, light wood, faint smoke, sweet, light menthol, faint vegetal. Palate Smooth, light, light wood, faint roasted, fruity, light pineapple, sweet, light vegetal, light caramel, light menthol. Finish Medium to long, light wood, light citrus, faint caramel, light menthol, light chocolate, faint floral. A pretty nicely balanced release where the ABV is hardly felt at all.

Aftertaste GRF Nose initially fruity but without the typical Jamaican funk. Light leathery notes on the palate with little sweetness. Quite alcoholic, for me too alcoholic and peppery. Not positive but not negative either, rating is like the rum, meaningless 😀

3rd place and thus the last place of my small MJH3 tasting. This one was very flat, not very powerful, the finish shorter than the competition. Top as a daily sipper, but not at the current issue price!

... Hampden, legendarni jamajska destilerka, ktera krome rumu produkuje take alkohol do parfemu. Ve vsech rumech z teto destilerky ucitite divoke estery, po kterych cely vas organizmus nasakne vuni zluteho tropickeho ovoce - manga, papaji, anansu, broskvi. Jeden z rumu, ktere "must try before die".
