W💥W I already found the very first HJF release from Old Brothers very successful. This one takes it up a notch. Full-on tropical... pineapple, papaya, banana, passion fruit. Plus fruit esters you only get from tropical-aged Hampden... incredibly round and almost lovely for the alcohol content. You definitely feel the alcohol on the palate... but it creates a real fireworks show. Wonderfully complex, a rum you should spend a lot of time with. In a Mai Tai, brutally good 5/5... though I actually prefer it neat. Unfortunately, the price is way beyond reasonable...

#6746 04.05.2026 Running a few samples after picking up my wife from work. Watching Body Cam on HBO, I still find it pretty exciting to watch actually. This is a really nice rum and the price tag is kind of OK in my mind. Very fruity with nutts, spices, olive and caramel and a light bitter palate.

How awesome can a rum with 76.4% be? Hampden, apparently :) Otherwise, we get what you'd expect: banana and pineapple as tropical fruits, plus a lot of esters. But there's also a lot of glue notes in this rum.

06.05.2026 Wonderful gift from Mr. D Jungberg. Fantastic harmonious Hampden. Pineapple, banana, papaya, lovely lime, and well-balanced cask influence. Balanced classic fruit explosion, deep and long finish of a really good cask. ABV is nicely balanced, just to my taste. Tasting (In The Cave)

So far, no HJF has disappointed me, neither those from Old Brothers nor those from Plantation, and this one is again a real showstopper. On the nose, a tropical fruit basket with esters, a little bit of glue and dough. On the palate, you feel the power, but only pleasantly warm. A hint of wood in the finish.
