Rum Sponge Refill Barrel Foundation 2004
Sip it neat and give it a few minutes to open — at 60% it needs air and warmth in the hand. What comes through is cocoa and dark chocolate, some wood, a little coffee, faint dried fruit and cherry. One taster nailed the sweeter side as "chocolate like from mommy." A few found the vanilla and honey a touch heavy for a Nicaraguan.
The community says- Rich cocoa and chocolate
- Round, balanced body
- But: Vanilla-honey can dominate

#4857 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Wood, fruits, light dried fruit, light coffee, chocolate, light caramel, spice. Palate Round, balanced, medium spicy, light wood, spice, dried fruit, light caramel, natural sweetness, light dry. Faint cherry. Finish Long and warm, round, light oily, wood, light roasted, light chocolate, light nutts, light cherry. A very nice rum that you should give a try if you get the chance. It needs to rest for a few minutes while you warm it in your hand to fully open up.
