CoR Enmore Versailles Foundations KFM 1991
You might expect 33 years to mean soft and syrupy, but this is the opposite: dark, dry and a little rusty, with old sombre wood, plum and prune, dark chocolate, coffee and leather. Roasted, spicy, faintly herbal and medicinal, with black tea on the back end. Several tasters loved the nose more than the palate, where a metallic, astringent edge and a thinning finish creep in.

Whisky Live Paris 2024: Very aromatic, intense rubber, wood and spice notes, after some time in the glass also subtle dried fruit aromas. Dry on the finish, but not astringent. Great cask, a KFM at a high level.

Woody even for 48% but beside that too watery ... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

#4859 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Wood, light roasted, light mint, plum, tannins, faint citrus, faint leather, light caramel, spice. Palate Wood, light roasted, spicy, light leather, mint, plum, light herbal, medium dry, faint coffee. Finish Medium to long, wood, roasted, light tannins, light licorice, prunes, medium dry, light herbal. This is an OK rum but the price tag is once again outweighing the quality.

A charming, subtle Enmore, captivating the nose with its innumerable spices, dark, elegant old oak, chocolate, leather and roasted notes. Plum, prune and toffee give voice to a highly concentrated yet surprisingly smooth profile. Floral and herbaceous notes add freshness to this warm ensemble. On the palate, the profile is just as concentrated: dark, woody, roasted and spicy notes combine with dark chocolate, coffee, leather and other spices to keep the palate in their grip. Plum and grape complement each other with pretty medicinal and herbal notes that move on to black tea, molasses and a hint of bitterness. The profile is dry but not overpowering, disappearing fairly quickly in the end. The alcohol is well integrated for its relatively low level. The finish struggles to open up. The profile is dry but slender, with that concentration of spice and licorice, wood tannins, that grassy, medicinal edge and subtle fruit (raisin, plum, prune). A quality Enmore that has already exceeded its prime and clearly doesn't want its price tag.

Dégusté au WLP, l'un des premiers verres de la bouteille (ce qui explique peut être la finale). Au nez c'était superbe, j'ai pensé avoir le meilleur rhum du salon dans le verre. Mais en bouche, un petit côté métallique et surtout une astringence qui m'empechent de dépasser les 9.
