Nice strong funky Hampden with a few rough edges. My first 2016 <>H. I quite like it, but as usual I find the price of Rest & Be Thankful a bit questionable. It wouldn't be worth buying a bottle for me

Nice <>H ... I don't think I've had a 2016 yet. It's a bit more mineral with more of a tingle on the tongue than fruit.

In the nose clearly <>H. Funky with solvent notes. Grilled pineapple and tropical fruits. Overall more on the roasted side of things than fruity. Some time in the open bottle to oxidize improves this one quite substantially. More round and also gaining some more depth. Very positive development here: +0.4. With that it can even compete 2013 (and 2014) vintage, which was not true for the freshly opened bottle.

#4875 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Medium intense, light wood, fresh, light vegetal, light floral, spice, ester, faint peat, fruits, light banana. Palate Warm, fresh, ester, light wood, faint smoke, fruits, light pineapple, light citrus, faint peat, medium spicy. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint smoke, light peat, fruits, light citrus, faint chocolate. I had expected this to be the best one, but I got a bit disappointed. Not a bad rum at all, but one of my favourite marks from Jamaica.

Finally! Again! Hampden! :) This is typical Hampden. Definitely rich in esters and tropical fruits, naturally banana and pineapple. Also a hint of nail polish and quite funky. Top stuff, there's nothing more to say about Hampden.

Tasted at whisky live Paris: quick tasting notes. Nose: a true classic hampden Mouth: some extra spice Finish: warm but not spicy A good time at the stand! On the other hand, I understand that this is 2x the price of a classic Hampden... ouch ouch ouch. Info to be verified.

2016, 8yo Hampden. Classic notes of banana, citrus, pineapple, bit spicy, some esters, funky rum. Average Hampden for me, but I tend to be selective what I put in my mouth (tasting too much, now focus on upper scale now only), so it is worth the money I guess...

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".
