A tad bitter, and not cheap, but clearly one of the finest vintages at Spirits Days in Tournai. Typical profile, not too harsh, with notes of old wood, grapefruit, and butter caramel. It goes down easy — almost a little too easy for €100.

#4833 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, vanilla, faint chocolate. Palate Warm, raisin, faint smoke, light medicinal, light olive, faint solvents, faint citrus. Finish Medium to long, warm, spice, light chocolate, faint orange, light vegetal, faint salty. Not too bad a release but the ABV could have been better integrated in my mind.

Palette: Bitter røg, frugtsyre lidt oliven, appelsinskal og opløsningsmiddel. Let krydret peber, kanel og salt afslutning. Glasset: Vanilje og let fad. Smagning “In the cave”

6.10.2025 Online tasting of “The nectar of the daily drams” by Rum Explorer Krzysztof Piaseczny with Mario Groteklaes. Fiji rums are my weakness and this one is again a very pleasant surprise. That layering of flavors is very specific, but for me it's a bomb.

Gluey funk. Leans more towards the rubbery, medicinal side than other Fijians I've had. I like em a little fruitier. Alcohol integration isn't as bad as other reviews say.
