Fresh-cut sugarcane and bright citrus lead here — lemon, orange, a floral lift — with black pepper, licorice and lime on a long, warm palate. It's bottled at 62%, yet almost nobody feels the heat: several tasters mention the strength disappears and the cane stays front and centre. There's a peppery-bitter edge some Guadeloupe blancs carry, but here it passes smoothly.

After tasting the 3 and 5 year olds, here at last is the white from the souvenir range. The nose is perfect for me: I can recognize the longueteau, citrus cane sweetness. The palate is a little more complicated, not necessarily because of the 62°, but rather the peppery bitterness that has to be overcome (liquorice/lime). The finish makes up for it with a long finish of lemon cane and a hint of grass.

This great Agricole Blanc from the Esperance distillery at Basse Terre in Guadeloupe was in slot #7 in my 2025 Advent calendar. The nose is round, fruity and floral with scents of citrus, orange and sugarcane. At the palate it’s complex, warm, round, fruity, spicy, sweet and oily with flavors of lime, peppers, licorice and sugarcane. The finish is rather long, medicinal and dry.

#5482 13.07.2025 Pre-dinner set with the guys and we decided for a set of unaged rums. Nose Fresh, light citrus, sugarcane, spice, light vegetal, fruits. Palate Light oily, warm, round, fruity, citrus, light anise, spice, sugarcane, light pepper, light spicy, light berries. Finish Long and warm, sugarcane, spice, citrus, light anise, light berries. Empty glass Lemon, berries, sugarcane, light anise, light grass. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly, after that it's a wonderful glass. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

Next up, a great white agricole from La Route des Rhums' Advent calendar. Sugar cane and citrus fruits are on the nose here. On the palate, it is very herbal and floral. Agricole and sugar cane are recognizable.

This longueteau came as a pleasant surprise: on the nose alone, for a white, you can tell this is a quality rum, and its fruity side comes through quite well. On the palate, the notes of fruit and citrus/lemon come through incredibly well, and the 62° doesn't show. An excellent choice!

Déjà bien apprécié en découverte , puis repris en aveugle avec Dekolaj et La Perle. Il arrive second devant le Dekolaj !... Un très bon nez bien expressif, citronné et fruité, banane, je me suis même demandé si c'était pas un alambic. En bouche il chauffe agréablement dans les mêmes tons plus discrets, avec un petit d'herbe non dérangeant. La finale est est moyenne . Un très très bon rapport qualité-prix à sa sortie à 20€, pas sûr que ça ne s'envole pas rapidement... Édit: une 2eme fois en aveugle avec le calendrier de l'avent 2024: Noté 7.8 (peut-être l'effet belle bouteille en moins). Très bon nez sur la canne sucrée, bouche sur la canne et l'alcool, et grosse longueur.

In my quest for whites, I bought this timeless Longueteau at Rum Stylez for 36.10, something like that with a temporary promo and now it's around 42€ at I don't know who. Nose: I immediately know I'm on an 8+. Very fresh. Floral, fruity, minty, a bit alcoholic after airing. Palate: you don't feel the 62%. (Anecdote: I was alternating between this one and the Clairin Communal until I read some comment that made me realize it was that percentage 🤣.) Usually I have a harder time with Guadeloupean rums because of their peppery bitterness but this one goes down ALL ALONE. Aroma notes: peppery Guadeloupean type (bitterness), floral, fruity. Finish: floral, fruity, slight peppery. Conclusion: Delicious, really really good. It's a valid competitor for the "king of whites" around 40€ against the Neisson 52.5° (36€ from what I remember).
