Bristol Port Mourant Small Batch Demerara Rum Berry Bros & Rudd Port Mourant 1999

Twenty-three years didn't make this the top Port Mourant in the lineup — the wood took over. Members tasting the 1999 Bristol PMs side by side kept landing on the 15-year as the sweet spot, with this one on the nose showing a bit too much oak that closes the profile up. What's there is classic PM: anise, licorice, allspice, burnt sugar and roasting notes over an oily body. The finish just fades early.

How does Bristol Port Mourant Small Batch Demerara Rum Berry Bros & Rudd Port Mourant 1999 taste?

Aggregated from 10 community reviews.

Woody, licorice-led Port Mourant that fades late Mature and honest PM, marked down by its own fans against younger Bristol siblings — the reduced strength and a quick-fading finish cost it. Still a well-liked dram.
