08.08.2016 Small tasting with old friends on vacation. Notes Medium dark to dark in colour. Nose Round, wood, light smoke, floral, fruity, light caramel. Palate Round, oily, warm, earthy, wood, roasted, cherry, earthy, light olive. Finish Medium long, wood, earthy, roasted, light marzipan, dried fruit.

Day 18 in the Christmas calendar. Blind! Unmistakably Spanish style. The biting alcohol suggests high % and fewer years. Nose: initially fruity-floral-spicy-sweet and also metallic-fresh. Honey and vanilla. The alcohol bites hard. Then come orange, papaya, peach and a hint of raisin. And sweetness again, sugar syrup. At the back smoky and dry woody, almost sour and vanilla again. Palate: sour-woody-bitter and salty. Slight sharpness. Some sour cherry and blackcurrant. At the back vanilla and woody with some tobacco. Needs time in the glass.
