Tobacco and caramel lead here, with dark chocolate, coffee and a woody, spicy backbone that firms up on the palate. The nose is quiet and gives little away, but the taste is fuller — classic Spanish-style Cuban. A really very good rum with great value for money. The rum is hardly sharp and has a very pleasant taste, and if you can get your hands on it, you can't go wrong for 35-45€.

New design from the well-known selection de maestros. The same stuff, just in a new design. Still makes good drinks like old cuban, daiquiri and co. Personally, I liked the old design better.

#7129 06.08.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a nice and relaxing day at work and some speedhiking on the way home because it started raining. Listening to Daily Mix 02 on Spotify. Pretty decent rum with a good price tag. I love to use this one in a cola. Well rounded profile with some sweetness, fruits, spice, coffee, chocolate, smoke and roasted wood.

A nice surprise, this Cuban. For me, the best Cuban I've had so far. On one hand, it's dry, but on the other, it has a sweet finish and a bit on the palate. It's a Spanish style, restrained but with finesse, and a nice dry fruit, a bit of tobacco and wood. A bit like a dry brandy from Spain. Much better than the 7-year-old. Fun to drink.

Caramel, some dried fruit, a bit of tobacco and earth. Not bad, but light and fragile, simple and not very complex. In the mouth, then woodier and spicier. Probably not sweetened. Surprisingly nice, long finish. Overall, an unexciting pleaser, probably goes well with a cigar.

Today a tasting back to the roots of two standard entry-level rums. Once the Havana Club and in comparison the RX106 (Pussers Navy). This Havana Club variant actually surprised me positively. The nose is quite restrained, with light aromatic caramel notes and well-integrated ABV, but the palate impression is clearly better. Spanish style. Sweet caramel, wood, spice, round and pleasant. The finish isn't amazing, but follows the same slightly spicy aroma. You can definitely drink it neat if you find it in a bar not specialized in rum with few alternatives. It works well in a Cuba libre as a chosen mixer. Absolutely mainstream-appropriate in a positive sense. Especially compared to the RX106, which is probably much more polarizing.

On the nose I get a strong alcohol note with wood. It is a rum most likely intended for the enjoyment of a cigar smoker, as it has its own tobacco taste with a woody finish.

I find it really tasty - they can really produce good rum, especially considering the conditions in Cuba. Fruity light taste with hints of cocoa powder and subtle coffee note.

The nose is quite neutral and mysterious. There aren't many hints about what will hit the taste buds. The flavor doesn't disappoint. There's caramel, licorice root, espresso, a bit of dried clove, and a little pipe tobacco. An ABV of 45 is quite nice for a Cuban. The alcohol is well integrated.

Stronger alcohol, taste dark, sharp, old wooden rum. Pleasant scent, pleasantly pungent esters on the tongue. Strong but pleasant.
