Coffee lovers curious about a rum twist are the natural audience here. The coffee-liqueur cask gives it real espresso and dark chocolate, backed by vanilla, caramel and a little dried fruit and Fiji fruitiness. One taster called it a "spannendes Experiment" — a fun experiment. Give it air; a few found it closed at first and much better on the second pour. Others felt the coffee stayed quieter than expected.

Exciting experiment! Somehow a good blend without the finish being too dominant. Coffee, dark chocolate, somehow also has something of a red wine barrel. Quite intense for the low percentages. Really good!

#7201 22.08.2026 Time for some samples. Today's training on the bike is done and maybe I'll take a walk later. Listening to some ice tracks by Astrix on Spotify. Decent release but I think the price tag is a bit off for this experiment. Fresh profile with coffee, chocolate, fruits, wood, smoke, marzipan, herbs and some vegetal notes.

So I have to admit, I like it, I really like these coffee things. We have coffee, vanilla, and fruitiness on the nose, then plenty of coffee on the palate, also vanilla, caramel, and a bit of cocoa.

This rum is something special again. On the palate caramel, vanilla and coffee come through. On the finish even a bit of espresso flavor. At first not my thing. Letting it breathe a bit and drinking again it's really much better.

Coffee is less noticeable than I expected. Also noticeable are tones of cocoa, dried fruit, and cinnamon. The taste follows a similar spirit. Coffee, cocoa, dried fruit, and cinnamon. In the finish, more like a combination of caramel, coffee, cocoa. In some ways, it reminds me of R.L. Seale. Overall, it's not a very interesting rum.
