Great Long Pond industrial character. A bit of diesel but no motor oil, very smooth, and combines nicely with a bit of Jamaican overripe fruit

Verdict: an OK Long Pond, but not spectacular. Incredibly on overripe pineapple and summer-like sweet stuff. Nose: overripe and tinned pineapple, yellow apple, brioche, caramel, vanilla, only slight nailpolish remover, a bit of toasted coconut and a whiff of mint. Taste: overripe pineapple galore, honeydew melon, ripe apple, vanilla, mint, caramel, pastry. Finish: medium, increasingly spicy and a bit spicy. Still on the fruit, pepper, ginger, cake, syrup and mint.

A nice rum as a second step to get to know Jamaica. On the nose, a first funky ester note of solvent, not too strong to overwhelm Jamaica newcomers. Along with overripe pineapple, vanilla, and caramel. On the palate, pineapple again, plus apple, sweet cinnamon, a bit of allspice, tobacco, and a light roast note. The finish is long. First a bit smoky with a hint of coffee, followed by sweet pineapple. Anyone who wants to get to know Jamaica but is still at the beginning of the journey will really enjoy this rum.
