Fresh sugarcane, lemon and lime zest, and a green, vegetal streak run right through this white Bielle. A few tasters get earthy, salty, iodine notes too, and one calls it close to a "ready-to-drink ti-punch." At 59.9% the heat is there but well folded in — most say the alcohol barely bites. Classic Marie Galante agricole, clean and grassy.

#5271 21.04.2025 Got some new samples on Saturday that I just have to try. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruits, light citrus, light licorice, Agricole, spice, light herbal, sugarcane. Palate Light oily, fresh, sugarcane, citrus, light herbal, light anise, light grass, Agricole, light floral. Finish Medium long, fresh, light oily, sugarcane, citrus, light licorice. Empty glass Agricole, light caramel, citrus, vanilla, light licorice.

Let's open the next bottle right away :) Here we have a nice Agricole from Swell. Typical agricole notes, we have citrus fruits and sugar cane here. Of course also very herbal on the nose and palate.

Lille - Swell Masterclass - notes: Not much to say, I love Bielle, I had already invested in 2 bottles of a previous "On Tour" cuvée from the same distillery, which I particularly appreciate. Edit: present at the rum fest, and gold medal! Here we find a beautiful cane, the usual warmth of this distillery, citrus, lemon, for a rich juice, close to a ti-punch – ready to use – no need to add anything.

Rhum agricole is the epitome of what Marie Galante rums are all about. Sugar cane, lemon/citrus, a little pepper, earthiness, licorice, and Iodé. I like to have a bottle of this style open for a change from other blanc agricoles.

First tasting (of a long series) at the Swell de Spirits booth at RhumFest Paris 2025. A rather typical Bielle with an omnipresent cane, a refreshing lemon zest, citrus fruits, a very vegetal side. Successful. Powerful and warm. Iodine notes at the end of the mouth.

24/01/2026: tasting @ Liquid Leuven 2026. On the nose, typical agricole, grassy notes. The palate is fresh and tasty. Although this is bottled at 59.9%, the alcohol is hardly noticeable and very well integrated. If white Agricoles are your thing, this is a steal.

Nice Bielle Agricole, but I can't understand the description that it should taste like a finished TI Punch. The rhum has slight citrus notes, yes, but overall it is dominated by salt, licorice and earthy tones. The alcohol could also be better integrated. Nice but definitely not outstanding.

This rum is as good as it gets: you're catapulted straight back to Martinique as if you were sipping a to-punch, even without adding anything! Really nice!

Complex nose when the bottle is opened, soup. Vegetable soup, leek limit remains present. Vegetal. Lime zest too. Warm, caressing mouthfeel. Vegetable soup still present. Perhaps artichoke? We're just opening the bottle, so taste again, in a while. Medium finish and warm use of La Canne À Sucre.
