My nose hardly perceives alcohol, but rather light esters, fresh apples, bananas and other fruits not clearly identifiable. After about 1 hour standing time, smoky aromas appear which are not found in the other bottlings. On the palate, the apples and bananas from the nose are clearly recognizable. Among the other fruits from the nose, at least pineapple comes through on the palate. The fruits transition into vegetal aromas, medicine and anise in the finish, which is dry and medium to short length. In the finish, I hardly find the fruits from the nose/palate again. A good rum, but unfortunately only half as good a Jamaican. Marco from Barrel Aged Mind found this drinking strength version better than the cask strength version, which I understand but does not fully share my taste.
