#5001 27.12.2024 Enjoying a few samples at home while watching Harry Potter Baking Competition. Nose Wood, light roasted, spice, light caramel, dried fruits, light orange, light herbs. Palate Sweet, wood, light roasted, light caramel, faint chocolate, dried fruit, light tannins, faint banana, light herbs. Finish Medium long, wood, dried fruit, light orange, light tannins, light citrus, faint grass. The empty glass has vanilla, light grass, chocolate and light honey.

On the nose, the light note of citrus fruit and freshness is pleasing. Otherwise mild caramel and toffee notes. Wood remains far in the background. The change from the fruity start to a peppery mid-palate, followed by something metallic, is exciting. The honey is then clearly present in the finish. A multi-faceted, fresh, fruity representative of the Zacapa family.

Initially very fruity with vanilla, as it progresses the sweetness subsides in favor of some white pepper. Quite a long finish with a little oak and well-balanced alcohol.
