One taster admits that blind he might not have called it rum at all. Fun as an experiment, but the West Indies base pretty much disappears under all that sweet almond liqueur character.

Yeah, this Planteray was just there. Just standing around here, bam, already drank up. Followed by a musty Uitvlugt, then we can safely get weak. I'm really looking forward to that :-)

If I had tasted it blind, I might not have said it was rum, so much the amaretto takes over, especially on the nose. On the palate syrupy texture, the attack is on the slightly spiced almond. A bit of cherry. Then evolution towards caramel/toffee. At the offered price it can make a good little digestif after a convivial meal. It's not something flat.

Nice experiment, but the amaretto finish clearly dominates - you can't recognize much of the base. Too intrusive for me, but as I said a fun experiment.

I can really taste the amaretto there. A nice reminder of ice cream with exactly this enhancement. Unfortunately, it seems to me that the rum base is completely bland, so Plantation decided to put a boring, barely average rum on an amaretto finish. Nice experiment, but I definitely wouldn't want a whole bottle of it. Edit: lowering the rating
