Great nose, nice plum, raisin, tobacco, but not sweet. Dry finish, really good for the low alcohol content!

Overall, the rum comes across as relatively alcoholic and not very balanced. Even on the nose, it is rather reserved and lacks expressiveness. It lacks distinctive aromas or a clear direction that would make you curious for the first sip. This impression continues on the palate. Flavor-wise, the rum remains rather one-dimensional and offers little depth or recognizable aromas. The existing notes also disappear relatively quickly, leaving hardly any lasting impression. Notably, there is a slightly bitter note that stands out much more strongly compared to any sweetness or fruitiness. The finish is also rather short and brings little additional development. Overall, the rum lacks balance, complexity, and character. For my taste, the alcoholic note is too dominant, while the actual aromas are too little present.

Hanse Spirit Hamburg February 2026. It's okay, but €189 for the bottle? Hello, are you serious? :( Oh man. Whatever, the dram only cost €4 :) Anyway, it's very spicy, with notes of cocoa, vanilla, oak, and dried fruits.

All in all, a well-made Cuban, but unfortunately also a little thin and unspectacular. Especially for ~200€ I simply expect more here. Hardly any complexity and could simply have a little more depth and finesse.

I would say it offers typical tones of Cuban rums, nothing outstanding, but it's a disappointment for a 20-year-old. On the nose, unremarkable and flat, dried fruit, wood, vanilla sweetness. On the palate, drier, spicy and slightly roasted.
