Im ersten Moment war ich wirklich beeindruckt - ein österreichischer Rum mit herrlichen Esternoten, daneben Ananas und leichtes Holz. Im Gaumen kam dann ein wenig die Enttäuschung, da primär Süße zu schmecken war; bei genauer Betrachtung Zuckerrohr, Eiche und noch leichte Ester. Die markanten Holznoten erreicht die Brennerei trotz kurzer Lagerung durch die Nutzung sehr kleiner Fässer - an sich kein schlechter Ansatz. Die Süße war auch das primäre Aroma im Abgang. Ich kann die vermeintliche Zuckerrung durch die Produzenten nachvollziehen, da die breite (Touri-) Masse die Zielgruppe sind. Mit weniger Süße, Fassstärke und vielleicht ein paar Jahren mehr Lagerung hätte der wirklich Potenzial.

In der Nase schöne Esternoten, die grosse Vorfreude machen. Dann jedoch eine erschlagende Süsse, keinen Körper und der wenige Alkohol ist nicht besonders schön eingebunden ist. Leicht wässrig. Der Abgang beendet mit einem kurzen süss klebrigen Geschmack mit leichtem Holz die Vorstellung.
