A confusing Mhoba because it is so different from the range, but a beautiful Mhoba! Much more on butter, vanilla, cocoa. Nothing complicated or provocative as one might sometimes fear from them. Pure pleasure, a real dessert like tarte tatin with a slight smokiness (probably Woodford Reserve barrel).

On the nose you can easily pull out mango amongst the tropical fruit note. There are some wood notes and overall I would say it has a bit of a funky note to it. The taste is tightly packed, very flavorful but a bit tough to unpack. I get banana up front and it evolves through the finish. You get spices and some briny varnish. An exciting rum that I look forward to revisiting and trying to further unpack.
