Most people treat this as a workhorse, not a sipper. It's the everyday white from Reunion, molasses-based (not agricole despite the look), with a grassy, fruity nose and a spicy palate where the alcohol pokes through neat. A few tasters say straight it "c'est pas trop ça" to drink pure — but for ti punch, rhums arrangés and baking, it earns its keep.

Charrette from Reunion is a collaboration between the other distilleries in Reunion. It’s said to be the most bought rum in Reunion. It’s produced from sugar cane syrup which means that it’s not an Agricole, instead it’s a French styled Traditional rum. Overall an easy consumable not very demanding rum for someone used to Agricole’s Blanc 50-55%. Tested it in a TI Punch and it worked well, but I prefer an stronger Agricole Blanc. I’m quite sure it will fit quite good in any rum drink, especially better than any multi column produced white rum.

Short trip Reunion September 2024. Then there's the 49% Rhum Blanc Traditionnell from Rhum Charette. The first impression is very herbal and fruity on the nose, and on the palate as well, but unfortunately the alcohol predominates here too.

#7350 23.09.2026 Relaxing with some samples after my training and starting to pack my stuff for Whisky Live Paris. Blasting some Trance Tracks from Spotify. Not really a rum for me but the price is OK and probably a good mixer. Medium intense profile with fruits, floral, spice, olive, salt, vegetal, solvents, natural sweetness, wood, tannins and mint.

The famous charrette! No need to present it. Perfect for cocktails, pastries or arranged rums. To drink pure, we won't lie, it's not really that good. Good value for money, though!
